Lol yep. What's with Pepe? Used to hit the target sharper. Harder as well. Maybe they should rest him, to get those kick batteries full again.

Corinthians joins us as two time CWC Champs: The Copa Libertadores champions joined Barcelona as the only teams to win the tournament twice, adding to their first title in 2000.

Corinthians deserves their titles. They won them by playing football. Just like Chelsea deserved their CL.

Also - never thought Torres was a "dickhead", just a neutral-ish player whose career hasn't been all roses lately (although he has done nicely titles-wise).

Chelsea now 0-for-4 in their drive for 7 titles this season. Next up: Leeds Utd in the League Cup next week.

I will give them this title, but the 2000 one was a sham. They had no right to be in the competition because they were not Libertadores champions. I am completely against having a host team joining this tournament, specially when the country was Brazil where teams a strong and have a legitimate chance of winning it.

Plus it was a different format. It had group stages and no SF. Top teams of each group went to the Final. It was merely a trial tournament.

I'd be surprised if they ended the season trophyless though. League Cup seems to be their best chance at winning a title with only the likes of Swansea and Aston Villa remaining as big threats.

FA Cup is their domain but it'll be hard to win that while the Europa League will depend on how seriously they take it. They may not win it even with their best side though.

    Agreed here.

This Corinthians side is special with how they operate as a unit, play for each other, and work hard all game from beginning to end. They've only conceded 4 goals in 16 games on their way to winning the Libertadores and CWC, beating the likes of Boca Juniors, Santos, Vasco, Al Ahly, and Chelsea along the way. That achievement can't be underrated by anyone.

And I'm glad it also happend because this gives a big merit to what we achieved last year when we beat Santos the way we did. It was a masterclass performance and today shows just how impressive it was in the end.

Torres isn't a dickhead either, he's just really low on confidence and isn't at the right environment to recover it. He's a fantastic striker at his best but he won't get back to what he once was playing for Chelsea.

By the way, celito, any chance that Corinthians can keep the core of this team together and add some more solid players to their side ahead of next year's battles? It'd be interesting to see if this team can keep this kind of success up and especially on their solid defensive foundation under Tite. One of the best defenses in world football right now for sure. Not in terms of quality, but as a unit they're right up there.

And I don't see how Ronaldo's goal was allowed to stand. His foot was right in the Espanyol defender's face when he connected with the ball and yet the goal stood. Oh well, doesn't matter I guess. Don't see LPB dropping points there anyways and as long as we do our job tonight, it'll be a good position for us at the end of the night.

I think they will keep most players. Paulinho may get some offers because he is also getting exposure at the NT level but I think he is staying. As for additions they are adding Renato Augusto from Leverkeusen as of now.

I thought the same thing. Looked like dangerous play.

    Up 2 x 1 now.

looked ok to me. the ball was about waist height. and the defender was diving downwards to head the ball.
