I am sorry, but I don't quite agree with the sentiments of either of you (although I lean towards Loco's position). In a meaningless friendly between the Fire reserves and Indy 11, I am happy to cheer for Peter Wilt's team. If it were a US Open Cup, I would root for the Fire to win, of course, as that would mean more for the Fire in the long run. I do agree that the team is bigger than the owner, but by all accounts, it appears that the owner/FO is trying to turn the team against the longtime and (unfortunately) long-suffering fans. If this is true, and they* are turning against the fans, then the players will suffer, no doubt. In multiple ways. We all want the same thing, for the Fire to be a dominate force in MLS and on the larger stage, "to be a team that people dread playing". When there is a commitment on the behalf of the owner/FO to do so, everyone will be back in a heartbeat. *By the way, when Peter Wilt was running the team, I don't think I would have ever used third person plural pronoun "they" but would use the first person plural pronoun "we" in all occasions.
Thanks for rubbing salt in the wound. Between Chicago and the XI I'm just about fed up with draws :-/
They're an expansion team which probably are good results, as for us it's our 17th year. Considering we are playing like an expansion team, so our 6 six ties are probably good results also.
