Dempsey had a shot blocked earlier that may have been heading for the back of the net but instead went out for a corner.

I hope the Spuds lose. They need to stay healthy for the CL run. For any mid table team, FA cup makes a lot of sense to grind through, but Spuds dont have the squad to manage both.

And Dempsey has another shot blocked. This time it's a potential PK handball, but the referee decides it was ball to hand.

Actually I think it hit his side. Clint needs to go after the bouncing ball in the box instead of appealing there.

Ah, it was hard to tell in my stream.

Unrelated, but I'm really surprised to see that Michael Brown (he of Fulhamerica notoriety) is still playing at this level.

To those who bemoan the quality of defending in the Dutch league, I present the keystone cops routine on display from Spurs as a counter factual.

Only because its a Warnock team. His brief is just to foul his way through 90 minutes

Was in the reserves before Warnock took over

Europa League games v Lyon to come too. Last thing they want is a replay with this paper thin squad

Friedel wins a header on a free kick, but the header goes no where.

    FT Leeds win 2-1

Dempsey got one, but should have had more.

The ball from Lennon that got through to Clint is the kind of poach he usually feasts on. That was a bad, bad miss.

He missed one I'd expect him to score, and scored one that I wouldn't have really expected him to make. Probably evens out in the end.

Well, Caulker, Naughton, and Vertonghen all looked overwhelmed.

AVB probably should have played at least one more experienced player in the back.

Dont think it was inexperience. Friedel, Vertonghen and Assou-Ekotto are seasoned campaigners, and Caulker and Naughton have played enough at Championship level.

Probably needed Dawson for the aerial battles, but Caulker should have been able to deal with them comfortably. He's nowhere near good enough for England at the moment, hope Hodgson doesnt pick him next game. Let him gain international experience in the U21s

A much needed loss for the Spuds. Only downside of this match in my opinion is Spud fans (US fans as well) are concentrating on the goals Dempsey doenst score instead of the ones he does.

That sitter in front of goal came through 4 bodies before it hit him. He should have had it. However, the degree of difficulty on the header was tremendous. Evens out.

That header is way harder than it looks.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say, the header was tremendous. He had no business scoring from there. Makes up for the flub on the open net. Again, Spud fans will focus on the misses rather than the goals. Same with match against united. In my mind, scoring late against United was probably the only way to win. Give them 4 minutes and they have proven they can score against anyone.
