4-1 against Kiev. Ibra scored a penalty kick won by Menez, Thiago Silva for his first match, Alex and Pastore also scored. What a game from PSG. Huge intensity, in particular during the first half. We finally found back Pastore that was a difficult beginning of season and he has been fantastic tonight. Verratti yet again incredible. 19 years old, already almost an automatic starter, a lot of qualities that we've seen since day one aka his match against Chelsea. Impressive showing from PSG.
Peut-on faire oublier Eden Hazard ? On savait qu'Eden voulait partir.
Watched the PSG game last night and I came away really impressed, probably their best performance of the year. Especially the first 45 minutes, the Matuidi-Veratti-Chantome trio in the midfield looked really solid, though I guess it have to be said that Dinamo didn't show much at all. Hopefully Lille can show some effiency tonight and get those crucial three points.
With 9 players starting all 3 of the recent victories, it looks like Ancelotti has settled upon his formation and starting XI ............ this could be the start of truly great things for PSG.
I'm not sure. I thought Chantome would be buried this season and he started an important match out of nowhere. I still dont know if Alex is gonna be able to hold off Sakho. Also hard to believe Lavezzi isnt gonna be in the starting lineup more often than not. Still looks to me like there's still things to be settled.
I'm not suggesting that the starting XI is "set in stone" .... but 9 players starting all 3 victories is a good base.......... I suspect that 5 or 6 of them will be the basis of the "big game" selections.
I thought Lille would be pretty good this year because they wouldnt be so reliant on Hazard but they are really making me mad now. If they lose this game I hope they dont finish top 3 like I thought they would. Why oh why cant French teams hire the best managers possible rather than always relying on French guys. How about a manger with European experience and pedigree for a change.
Squandered the Hazrad money, barely spent half of it and didnt bolster the defense or sign a big time Centre forward. This is very embarassing for France. We gotta rely on PSG to carry us now and hope for the Europa leage pts.
How can any true French fans hate on PSG when they want to win and we have teams like Lille and Montpellier who'd choose pocketing money over winning. I like the current L1 standings because we'd get OM and OL back in the Champions League and PSG will be back as well so finally no dead weight for the first time.
Kombouaré was free before to join a club in Saudi Arabia and according to Kombouaré himself he's not feeling inferior to Ancelotti. Letting go abroad a coach of his quality, who won the honorific title of "champion d'automne", who discovered Bisevac aka the twitter warrior is unforgivable. I blame Lille for that. i've just seen that they are losing 3-0 and I think about the comments of Lille fans about how easy it's to beat Kiev. Easy...yeah
Btw, I was excited about Lille's new stadium but it doesnt look like it has any character at all. Concrete and ugly grey seats. Certainly cant compete with the atmosphere of the Parc de Princes, Velodrome, geoffroy-guichard, Felix Bolleart. It just looks so cold and coorporate. Maybe all new stadiums are like that and in that case what can you do. I wanted many new stadiums in France but I'm starting to think that renovating the Velodrome, GG, FB, instead of building new was the right idea.
Many new stadiums are "cold and corporate" .......... to avoid this, you need to have an architect with the vision to build character into the place.
With yesterday's failure fresh in memory, all I'm asking for today is one win out of three, preferbly in Istanbul.
^ 2 wins and a draw isnt too bad. Fener probably has a bigger budget that OM does. They certainly have bigger name players. A draw like that in such a hostile atmosphere is great.
yea a solid showing for the french clubs, Bordeaux could have easily won 7-0 if they had been more efficient infront of the goal.
Bordeaux must have the worst collection of forwards of any "good" team in the league. When Gouffran is their top guy I'm surprised they can score that many goals. I see OL with Lisandro and Gomis and OM with Remy and Gignac and Gouffran, Diabate, Jussie just pales in comparison.
Yea seems like their strikes are all convert wingers, with Diabete being the exception but he's more of a Heskey-type player than a goal scorer. Saivet seems to have started the season decently but he's also more of the winger type. Could really use a fox-in-the-box type striker.
well when you're playing 3 forwards you really only need one true CF which diabete can fill but yeah he isn't a true "go to goal scorer guy" now for some stats on fcgb: undefeated in 15 games in all competitions and undefeated in the last 10 european matches, we actually fielded quite a lot of first team guys meaning we are going to take EL seriously anyone else really disappointed with lille? I thought lille would establish itself more and though they had creativity in the second half and the other team played well defensively they set themselves up for a tougher road to the next round, valencia and bayern aren't walkovers or mediocre they need to work on defense and get more creative, they looked stale and semi predictable in the first half
