The first goal was a gift but he still had to take advantage and finish.
The second goal was pure brilliance and accuracy. Chelsea did not know what hit them.

This game showed how he can play with confidence vs. good teams.

Montero is a guy that can easily check out of games because of confidence issues... when he is mentally there, he can take on anyone. When not.... like vs. some teams in the CCL, he checks out...that IMO is his biggest flaw when taking on better techincal opponents used to his skills.

You think? I sometimes get the feeling he's overconfident, enough to the point he doesn't give his all.

Whatever the case being on the bench the past couple weeks seems to have woken him up a bit. Sigi tends to do this annually right about this time of year.

    I don't think he's over confident. I think he's sometimes underconfident.

While I like the way he plays, I think that scoring two goals against a team in preseason, that is testing its roster, hardly makes him more likely to earn a chance in Europe...

Looks like Chievo is after him now. I don't think Montero is better than Uribe who failed there. I visited the Seatle page and they seem to think Montero is worth over $8 million bucks some think Euros :)

they say Ajax and Liverpool want him. I don't think he is good enough for either of these 2 teams. He is a bottom team starting striker or bench player in a top 3 league until he becomes more consistent.

Montero was more successful than uribe in FPC (montero two times top scorer, nowadays he don't scores a lot but do a lot of assistances)...his number since 2009 in seattle aren't bad 53 goals , 37 assists in 142 matches.....

Todos los goles moviéndose en diagonales para recibir, bien parecidos los 3. Muy buena la definición en el último

I don't know if Montero wants to go back to Colombia. Europe is where he wants to go.

Although it would be nice for Millos and their championship aspirations, I am not sure if he will settle for that.

Pero estando en estados unidos no se le ha hecho muy facil irse.....otros jugadores que surgieron despues de el, desde colombia se han ido mas facil y en mas poco tiempo en europa.....

Well I don't know if Colombia is an option right now. Last year people brought up Junior to replace Bacca in the Libertadores and that was only smoke. This could be smoke too.

Montero makes $600k a season. He also will cost at least $5 million dollars. Considering that Millos let Osorio leave because they didn't want to give him a salary bump. I doubt this is true. He also has a hot american girlfriend who won't want to move to Bogota.

Montero needs to make the euro jump even if it's a 2nd division English team or Celtic or w/e but he needs to make the jump. I doubt we'd ever call a MLS striker with so many others in Europe. That and he is too inconsistent
