They show Baseball, Basketball and Hockey. What the hell else were they supposed to do the past few years? Show the Columbus Comets?
Nobody is watching a CBJ game come January 10. Aren't they already eliminated from the playoffs? They put the "BAD" in "BAD".
I believe so.. And on satellite, they can just run it on the Cleveland feed (both available in C-Bus, IIRC) when there's a conflict (except for early season where there may be a Cavaliers conflict). With the Indians on STO, that's a ghost town between Cavaliers/Monsters seasons.
Maybe they could get Jim Day to be the sideline reporter I miss him on the Bluejacket's games. I know it's impossible though since he does the Reds games for them. Maybe Ashleigh Ignelzi than, or would they use the same people ONN used?
Yeah, exactly. It might be a new network, but that doesn't mean all the on-air talent will be swapped out. Might as well have the knowledgeable, experience soccer people staying on board as opposed to bringing in random personalities. I fully expect Dwight, Duncan and Dante to stick around, as well as Katie. If they don't, I'll be highly disappointed.
When they switched radio from 1460 to WEGE (now WTDA) to 610, they kept the same radio group. It's my understanding that the commentators are paid by the CFO, even though they appear on whatever radio or TV outlets broadcast the games. Therefore, I would expect our familiar commentators to stick around.
Since all conflicts could be solved by the alt channel/Cleveland feed option, it does seem possible that this could be happening.
this is welcome news. i thought my eyeballs were going to fall out after last seasons away game non-HD feeds.
Great news for the Crew and might save me some money. Having Directv I was obligated to buy the direct kick package the last couple of years to be able to watch Crew games as DTV doesn't carry ONN. I watched a decent amount of other MLS action, but it was primarily for the Crew. Now, I can make a more rational decision about the purchase as I can get the Crew on FSOH, in HD, with our commentators. On direct kick we were often stuck with the home team's announcing team.
good point. plus you wont have to go out and spend money at a bar / restaurant if its an away game. i have to admit its getting better. a little better all the time.
Personally it works out great for me. I have DirecTV and get NBS Sports Network and both Fox Sports Ohio on my base package. Last night I canceled the Sports Pack so this year I'm saving $144 dollars.. about what I paid for the 2 game worn jerseys I bought at the equipment sale.
The DirectKick package is the best thing $80 buys. Every single MLS game? That's a nice thing to have.
