Has anyone sent their child to one of the Footholde summer soccer camps in the Minneapolis area or to the Shattuck's residential summer camp, and what is your opinion of the camp?
Not trying to hijack the thread - because I definitely want to hear the responses. Any other recommended summer camps for girls in the 14/15 age in the midwest??? I want something pretty high-level. I know a girl who went to Vogelsinger last two summers, and she loved it. (I know there are threads all about Vogelsinger.) Any recommendations are much appreciated.
Hey SoccerDad6 my DD went to a camp in Lake Forest, IL called One on One. She loved it! Said that she had never worked so hard in her life and learned so much in a week. It is residential...I think I dropped her off on a Sunday and picked her up on Friday afternoon. Cost was about $650. All was included including a full kit of 2 uniforms, a couple extra shirts, socks, and a nice ball. She still keeps in touch with the kids she made friends with their. High intensity. We hve done the camp at Elmhurst college, they do a week nonresidential and then thru Nike they do a 4 day residential camp. This was a very good camp also. My only problem was that it was mostly done by the college soccer players...not all of them have what it takes to coach kids. But the intensity was not bad and they wanted to go back the next day. We did it two years running, but then she needed more and that was when we found One on One. One thing about One on One...it is not a huge camp. The kids do get a lot of individual attention. My daughter loved the coaches and came back a better player. Best recommendation I can give! Hope that helps a little-
