Rachel Ray obviously knows her ********, but I can't stand her style. It's like she's talking to a five year old.

And god, I love Good Eats. And it's great if you have a rudimentary understanding of biochemistry, because you really see it put to use.

I used to think Rachel Ray was OK until I recently saw one of her "Under $40 a Day" (or something like that) shows. In this show, she was in San Francisco and claimed that she never had dim sum before. How can a well-travelled 30-something foodie personality never had dim sum before???

I was at Borders earlier tonight and saw that Giana has a new cookbook out there. Of course being the horny neanderthal fella that I was I opened it up....

There are some really nice pics of her wonderful cleavage!!!!
    :eek::eek:

One thing I don't like about her though is that her smile is way, way, way too big. At times it looks forced. For all I know though it could definately be very genuine.

My girlfriend just loves Rachael Ray. She wouldn't sleep with her though - I asked. I think Giada's more her type.

I dunno, I'd do either one, as long as they didnt' talk too much. I'm definitely a fan of Giand'a's cleavage.

I'd rather have her handle my meat, if you get my drift.

I don't think she does $40 a day. Her shows are "Inside Dish" and "30 Minute Meals." She's one of those big-time personalities that gets two shows.

I saw "Everyday Italian" for the first time yesterday. The show sucks, IMO, but she keeps me watching. However, she almost seems to perky.

And "Essence of Emeril" is worse than "Emeril Live." It's basically like Emeril is interacting with a crowd that isn't there, which is undeniably awkward.

    It's her. I promise.

No it isn't. All cooking shows are like that.

Wow, she's got a lot on her plate (no pun intended) traveling all over the world, and doing to other shows.

I know what you're saying, but I think he takes it to another level.

The other night I saw "Giada's Italian Holiday" or sumpin' like that and her mom was on it and you can definately tell where she got the boobs and cleavage. Her mom was a hot Italian MILF!

I love Good Eats. One of my favorite shows on tv. A food program couldn't be anymore informative and fun.

I watched the one about granola bars and power bars the other day. That was a hell of a show. I learned never, ever to buy that crap again.

Food TV is all about "Good Eats" for me. I like to learn about cooking, I don't like watching someone cook, basically with no explanation of what's going on ("Emeril"). Typical "Emeril Live" is fist we take some sauce and we put that with meat, then we cromulate it, I'll show when we get back......" That said the older "Essence of Emeril" show is not bad, it's an old school type cooking show. His cookbooks are good too and I use 'em all the time, "Louisianna Rual and Rustic" being the best one IMHO.

I hated Tony Bourdain the first time I saw him, but having read "Kitchen Confidential" I'm now a fan. The epdisode where he goes from bar to bar expounding on what makes a good watering hole is near and dear to my heart.

Bobby Flay may be able work a grill like Pagnini works the strings, but he's an asshat and I can't bear to watch him.

I can sum up every epidsode of "Unwrapped" for you:

First the (whatever) is placed in giant industiral (sink/oven/mixer/pressurizer) and the (salt/sugar) is combined to make (the basic thing). The item is than (cooled/heated/pressed/cut/colored) and sent to (another machine) for packaging to a greatful world. Next up a similar item made in bascially the same exact way but it's (a different color/size/shape).

After the break, here's someone who still does it the old fashioned way...

Let me put it this way. "Good Eats" is one of about five shows (on all of TV) that I make a point of watching. "Everyday Italian" would be on there if I liked the style of the show better.

I like that show a lot but I could do with less silliness and more information. Some eps are just too over the top.

I don't mind that, but I think my mom summed it up best. "It looks like he's having fun making the show." It's interesting because he actually seems to want to make it entertaining, as opposed to the other shows.

    True.

Factoid: At one point during the show where they picked the next FN "star" they mentioned that Alton Brown is the first (and so far only, I think) person they've hired on the basis of an unsolicited video.

Basically, all the comercial "bars" out there a full of salt not to mention sugar. The low carb bars and the power bars are made out of Horses hooves and crap like that. Basically Elmers Glue with sugar. Not bad for you, but the thought makes me sick.

One thing I appreciate about Everyday Italian, besides the breastices, is the way they do the close ups on the food. If nothing else, the soft lighting and the low angles gives it a unique touch and makes the food look extra appetizing, I think.
