First of all fire RW. Second of all hire 1 of these 5 to replace him. 1 gbs 2 eric wynalda 3 phil nichols 4 brian bliss 5 manny lagos I listened to Wynalda on MLS March to the Match and he seems to be the complete oppisite of RW.
Wynalda will want to play like Arsenal, but there is no way he can get through a season without some controversy with players or some FO brouhaha.
I am on the record saying GBS but I would be ok with Nichols and for some reason Lagos. I don't know a lot about him but I would give him a shot.
I laid a bet to @CrewPrez last night on twitter: If we make the playoffs, me and my buddy will upgrade to Club Seats next year. If not, he refunds our Preferred East Seats and VIP Parking Pass. Seems like a sucker bet to me, and I have yet to hear back.
Wynalda must have pissed someone off at US soccer HQ. He can't seem to find a job while Lalas can't go unemployed. Strange, I tell you.
The truth will set you free... Unless you're a Koolaid chugging FO tosspot suffering from near sighted doggedness preventing you from seeing the damage that a manager can do to not just the team itself, but to the club ethos as well.
At the Jackets' home opener on Monday they actually played the song while the Domino's guys were throwing out the Pizza boxes. I was cracking up. People around me thought I was crazy. To keep this on topic ... Fire Varzeeha! (spelled phonetically for The Don.)
That was very nice of you. As much as I've been vocal about not thinking he's a good coach he's still our coach and every time The Don screws it up I want to punch him right in the face.
You'd think with only 19 teams, that he'd have enough respect for the coaches that he'd learn how to pronounce names correctly.
Especially year over year, he butchered it last year; you’d think someone would have said… hey…umm… that’s not how you say his name. It’s also not just that it makes it look like he doesn’t care about that small market team; it also makes him look like an idiot.
Let's be honest, somebody probably started to say something and Don said, "Don't bother. Have you seen what's going on in Columbus? He won't be coaching next year...."
Good article. Holy cow, though... look at the completeness and politeness of the comments on that article.
The worst part about RW: He's so damn predictable. You can see the train wreck coming but are helpless to do anything other than watch. I can tell, as can most of us, what kind of result the Crew will get based on whatever asinine lineup RW uses each game. I could tell, as most of us could, when someone would wind up in RW's doghouse for something stupid ("not being responsible," etc.). And I could tell, as soon as Konrad entered the league, that somehow, someway, RW would find a way to get him on the team. Sigh.
