Good, now I found out why Syria didn´t go up this month in the Ranking, because FIFA didn´t count the matches this month, they will count them next month,so I hope we will go up really more, because Bahrain is worldrank 83 now and Iran 39,that is better for us,so I´ll hope for Syria on the 12th March.:DI don´t know why FIFA is doing that.

    Matches to count:

    Iran- Syria 0-0

    China-Syria 1-2

    Bahrain- Syria 1-2

    :)

Not correct, they were counting in February rankings. Syria did not win against China , they lost. Some previous results from Jan/Feb 2006 were devaluated.

    Another ignoramus here.
It seems like you know little about football.
Also, admit that your country plays silly football.

Do you really think Australia was a part of AFC in WC 2006?
Did you even know that AFC member cannot be in same group in WC group stage?

Australia is now in AFC member, but they joined after Germany 2006!!
Didn't Australia had play-off with Uruguay?
For WC2006 Qualifier, Bahrain had play-off with T&T.

Technically Australia joined AFC on January 1st 2006. Australia v Bahrain on February 23rd 2006 was our first AFC match. We weren't an AFC team in the WC though because we entered as Oceania's representative.

That's exactly what I am saying.
Australia didn't play in Asian World Cup Qualifier.
They joined AFC in 2006 on Jan, but they were officially admitted as AFC member after WC 2006.

Are you going to explain to me why we played an Asia Cup Qualifier against Bahrain before the World Cup?

Australia was part of OFC for most of the last World Cup cycle and qualified as OFC's rep, however we officially joined the AFC on Jan 1 2006. This date was set so that we could compete in the 2007 Asian Cup as qualifiers started before the 2006 World Cup. The timeline went

    1. Qualified for World Cup as OFC member
    2. World Cup finals draw made whilst OFC member
    3. Joined AFC
    4. Played an Asian Cup qualifier
    5. Played in 2006 World Cup as OFC rep but a member of AFC.

Also, I believe the intention of Joining the AFC was since 2005.

This is were I would put at least the top Asian teams (amongst asian teams anyway - not necessarily how close or far apart they are in World terms).

The tradtional big 5 (or 4 + Australia if you like) are top with Iraq and Uzbekistan close behind, China next and the rest rounded out by Gulf states +Thailand. I would only think that maybe Vietnam or Indonesia could consider themselves unlucky not to be in the top 15.

Wow North Korea is not even there and they have a high chances of making to the 4rth round (last time was in World cup 2006 qualifiers they made it to the 4rth round) of World cup 2010 qualifiers.

The most likely reason is that North Korea, because of its secluded state and
poor economy, just doesn't play international matches often. It doesn't
rack up ranking points, so to speak.

I not see where you would get Vietnam and Indonesia in your top 15.

Vietnam got knocked out of World Cup first Qualifier, so to be in top 15 they would be using there Asian Cup run which was 9 months back now, same for Indonesia, whom quite frankly are going backwards after looking to be the most progressive team in ASEAN.

ROFL truth be told, I don't see us qualifying to the World cup as I mentioned in the pact thread.

However if there is a pact that I can join against you then I will, even if it was a "Will Guam ever beat Saudi?" pact :D

    Taken from the pact thread.

But still you want to believe Iraq could make it right (because you said Iraq are not greece of asia)? :)

P.S. This friendly discussion is between me and amrizzle. So no need for outer interference and ruin this thread. This thread is very good.
