He scored a hat trick against some second division team. He's clearly better than Chicharo.

Davila and Pulido would have been great call ups for this past Gold Cup. Stupid flucking Chepo.

I think they are worth a look come the 2015 Gold Cup and Copa America. I also think Alan Pulido could make a dark horse run to be included in this World Cup.

As it stands the forwards are:

    Oribe
    Raul Jimenez
    Chicharoito
    Gio
I would say the fifth forward could come down to either Pulido or De Nigris.

    For some friendlies? Why not?

Hes better than MLugo and the other scrubs that were called for the GC.

I think he deserves a shot next year. Obviously he wont start, but it wont hurt to get him accommodate him with the Senior team.

I honestly think De Nigris' time has past back in 2010.

Time to let some other step up.

    Who the hell said that?

And its not that difficult to be better than Hernandez, Give Davila and Pulido a few more years i can see them over taking the poster boy.

Why would they call up a player that has n been on the radar in any of the national teams since the u20 wc some years ago?

The friendlies we have left are very valuable and should not be used to call up complete unknowns.

If the guy will make a run at a spot with the NT it will be next cycle not this one

    Peralta
Gio (if he plays striker in Piojo's system)
    Chicharito
    Jimenez

Sort of in that order or something similar... Still not sold on Pulido but I think the ship has sailed for this WC for him, Piojo has barely enough time to get the squad to gel as it is...

Chicharito isn't the most talented. How long did it take him to learn how to pass and dribble? Like the start of his third season no? Pulido is much more talented than chicharron and has the higher ceiling .

Along with him missing what, 2 sitters late in Qualifying when others had to save him and the team?

    Peralta
    Gio
    Jimenez
    Pulido
    Hernandez

But of course, Piojo will have to find a way to fit that scrub in the starting 11 because of his profile.

Hernandez hasn't been great recently for the NT team but you have to be kidding me if you're slotting Pulido over him...

It's not about potential, its about production

Despite the many holes that chicharo's game has, he's been a very productive player at an elite club and with the national team for years now

Outside of Hugo and Rafa, no Mexican player has had more of an impact at a top club than chicharo.. and you could argue its only outside of hugo.

Odds are very, very high that davila and pulido never even come close to sniffing chicharo level of success

If Pulido or Davila had the opportunity that Hernandez has had - they would.

SAF is a huge reason Hernandez is where he is today, consistently backing him early to poach goals in what do you know? A star is born - an average little star, only because hes at United.

    Really?

Just because im possibly the only poster here who thinks Hernandez is a bit overrated and doesn't consistently keep making excuses for his lack of footballing ability?

    If you say so.

lol. So pre saf chicharo was not scoring for chivas and the nt?

there is a reason why davila is playing in the spanish 2nd division and pulido is a part time player with tigres

And Pulido has been playing more this season than any in the past - Hopefully Tuca is coming to his senses and realize that Pulido can be the striker there, he doesnt need to keep getting overrated Argies.

    And Fonseca signed for Benfica.

Odds of Davila ever playing an official match with Chelsea? 0.09% sounds about right

Chivas went on to the final of the Libertadores without him the same year he left. For him to preform in a top team with top players doesn't mean much when he's a player that relies on service to play well. I'd like to see him off in Stoke city with the same results as his first season in Man U. He's just a poacher that will be a sub player at best in top clubs because the lack of qualities and skills he brings to the top team. He's nowhere close to the player Marquez , blanco, Sanchez and other Mexican greats in the past.

Lets enjoy him get a goal or two while being benched by the tronco in welbeck

Hes just now settling into his ceiling i think.

    Give it a couple years.

If not Chelsea, some top mid team in a top league.
