What a nightmare for Benteke and Belgium. Unfortunately injuries are part of the game and I hope Korea avoids anything as significant. Also hope they don't fall back on this as an excuse after we beat them fair and square in the WC. We also should have most of Europe and the world rooting for when we play Russia.
lol hadn't thought of that. this first match will be so crucial.. i will be dangerously anxious leading up to the match.
Take out the 'y' part. The pronunciation should start out more like "weh-..". And the 'k' is more closer to the 'g' sound.
Lionel, it's the unofficial English way for non-Koreans/Gyopos to write out 외국인 in Korea I think the website waygook.org made it popular. I agree that the method you wrote out is better but people romanize Korean words in so many different ways. For example, 국. I've seen it spelled out like: Kook (Hankook Tires), Gug (Song Chong-Gug), Gook (Lee Dong Gook), Guk, etc.. Most people ignore the official Revised Romanization of Korean One of the more Korean soccer related romanization changes I can think of is 전남 드래곤즈. They departed from the old Chunnam Dragons to Jeonnam Dragons. Both ways would work but Jeonnam is correct romanization-wise. In my opinion I think Chunnam makes the ㅈ easier to pronounce for Westerners. I have a friend with the last name Jeon and Westerners would say his name (Gee-on). Westerners say Chun like 전 moreso than Jeon (at least the ones I ran into). either that or maybe old habits die hard. I liked seeing the 전 in 전남 (Chunnam Dragons) and 전북 (Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors) spelled differently.
Average Western European fans and world at large don't care about Crimea. It's the media and political elite of Europe that are upset over it. Beside Ukrainians, its only the countries that share borders with Russia that really care about what's happening in Crimea and have the reasons to root against Russia. Speaking of Russia, I've watched some of their games and they are really good. They remind me of Japanese KNT with their technical skills, but with stronger and more physical players. The game against Russia is going to be extremely difficult. Even the Algerians looked pretty good. Not as techinically sound and organized as Russians, but they have some fast, athletic players up front who could give really trouble Korea's defense. This group has no disorganized Togo or lumbering Greece for Korea to beat up on. It's going to be tough group for everyone.
Benteke is not in form anyway. They should hoof the ball for Fellaini and rely on him to bully defenders and score headers.
It's been tried and didn't really work. Either we play Lukaku in there (but he is not really good at playing that role) or we put a guy like De Sutter in there (used to the role but plays in the Belgian league).
