My parents have been planting subtle suggestions. But it's Brazil. And I hope to still be single by then. I don't want to miss out on all the [_________] by travelling with them...
i would have been only 6 or 7 - not enough to remember anything... first WC KNT memory is 1998 - losing 5-0 to holland and thinking wow WTF we suck. then 2002 happened... watched the games on telemundo at crazy start times - i miss it.
I haven't been to a WC before but I want to go to Brazil. I think ticket lottery starts towards late 2013. And at the moment, I'm guesstimating and planning to save $6k+?
I have relatives in Sao Paulo, so I'm definitely taking advantage of that! Will be cheering for korea with my BSK brethren.
I have a good friend in Brazil, and a couple of friends that I'm in college with are seriously considering going. Also one of my good friends in college has roots in Brazil, so if I have the funds, I'll definitely be going. I hope this thread lives till 2014, you guys seem to know a thing or two about tickets and what not, like mentioning the lottery... Also would love to see a few BSK brethren in 2014 I'd be 22
My first real WC was 1998, even though I saw the 1994 one I don't have much souvenirs from it. This is when you realize you're getting old.
Oh man..I remember that. Had to either stay up till 2:45-3 AM or sleep and then wake up to watch those matches. I was your age too, was 14. After the victory over Spain, all the Koreans in Flushing were celebrating for hours. My first WC was 98...yes terrible. I still remember that Mexican hopping over two of our defenders with the ball. And only memorable thing in that WC was Kim Byung-Ji's dyed mullet haircut. -.-
I have a friend in Brazil so I'll definetly take advantage of that. I just need to save up money and hopefully win a KNT ticket
I am still a newbie on BSK, besides this ajussi still has to earn the respect from BSK I think there are more Cowboys fans in the DC area compared to the Deadskins fans.
Blanco. Speaking of which, I heard that Ha Suk Ju became the new manager of Chunnam. Lol... I still remember him scoring on Mexico and getting all hyper and then getting red carded for a stupid foul from behind.
I still have my Italia 90 book and memorabilia. We were stuck in northern Italy throughout the tournament. WC94 was a much better tournament for us. WC98 was so so so disappointing.
Damn, I wanna go so bad... But by the 2014, I'm 24. I'd be going into my residency years. Chances are I won't get three weeks off to watch our KNT play in WC14. It's a dream, but my career depends on it. Cheer on our KNT with your hearts, boys. And if you're going to party, always beware of the women. 40k prostitutes enter and leave a country during a WC, so you never know what nasty surprises the beautiful women of Brasil may bring. Just saying... EDIT: Besides, I'd really love to see HMB coach our boys. There's no way in hell I'd watch Choi Kang-Hee helm our warriors into the field.
If people are seriously up for it I wouldn't mind travelling with someone here (even a group of BSKers). I'd hate to travel alone, plus I want to get Row 1 seats so I can hang my KNT banners for the TV hehe.
some tips to all of you thinking of going to Brazil in 2014. i agree with ChaBoomer. I really think Brazil is not prepared to host a WC. Building stadiums aren't enough to make us prepared: we must invest in infrastructure. There is no public transport of good quality and the few good hotels are expensive. and the most important: girls aren't what you are thinking. be prepared for the worse. taxi drivers will probably take advantage of all foreigners. same thing will happen in the hotels, restaurants etc. and it's safe if you know where to go and how to not draw much attention. anyway. if you have any question you can ask me.
