I wonder if llubo had anything to do with Lustica not playing? mabye convinced him not to play under the "flag of rapists and pillagers" or whatever we are...

Friends, is there any place to find videos of your u-20 kids in the recent games? I'd love to see this team in action. I've got the videos for the other competitors in the group except for you guys.

Apparently their clubs pressured them not to go. I can somewhat understand Lustica's situation in that it is a new club for him and he wants to make an impression in preseason (though you could argue the u20WC is a bigger stage for him to do so). I read on twitter someone citing James Holland as an example, he was in the AZ 25 for UCL but went against club wishes to go to u20WC, subsequently he dropped in the pecking order when he got back.

I'm actually cautiously optimistic for this tournament, seem to be a decent group of players.

I can understand why Lustica and McGrath won't come. It's the nature of professional football. With Davidson and/or no other left fullback in the squad, i'm a little concerned as Warren is a yellow card magnet, if he gets suspended who will play in his place? We only have left footed central defenders.

I also wonder what happened to Inman, the midfield is pretty competitive as it is but he was supposedly more impressive than many of the others in those camps in Germany. I might send him a message on twitter and ask why he isn't in.

Maybe he also had club issues but isn't as well recognized as Lustica and McGrath for Berger to mention?

We haven't had any televised recent games for quite a while, but plenty of behind-the-door friendlies against Germany, Colombia and a few club sides

The last time they played in a competitive match:

Thanks Rick! The young socceroos look like a very formidable squad. Quick question: if I want to find a full match, should I contact your football federation or local tv channels that pass games? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Rick, i was wondering the same thing when I was checking out the wikipedia page for the young socceroos. There seems to be a fair few european based players that did not get called up. I'm wondering whether the reason is that they weren't good enough or their clubs stopped them from going.

I know right! First the debacle with Moore and now this shite. I usually respect club sides that are willing to give Aussies a crack at it but these guys just want us to bend over. ******** em.

Huh, always figured Musty and Ibini as central players. Shows what I know. Don't really like Grant at RB, we've only used him there in emergencies.

52' in- Looking shaky- Ecuador had a 1 on 1 with the keeper, but Birgy palmed it wide.
