Is anyone trying to stream these matches on the FIFA site? If so, do you know if the US is blocked from streaming?

Haha, what a funny match. :D
I think even Mexico would have a chance vs Trinidad&Tobago or Chile.

T&T wins 2-1 over Chile. Chile hit the cross bar on the last play of the game.

ESPN has the rights to all FIFA competitions through the 2014 World Cup and it is their prerogative whether to show it on TV or online. I'm assuming they just decided against airing this event which, if I am not mistaken, they also did not show in 2008. The absence of a US team also probably factored into the decision.

Try using a proxy from one of the countries listed above with a non-anonymous IP. You'll probably have to spend some time getting it to work properly though; there can be some issues with displaying videos and such.

Canada over Ghana 1-0, a win so ugly only a parent could love it. To me, this was mostly to be understood as an athletic contest. The Ghanaians were generally faster, bigger and stronger than the Canadians. They put high pressure on the Canadians in the first half and out-muscled the Canadians on 1 v 1 battles. Trying to play possession under the circumstances was very difficult. However the Canadians were positionally disciplined enough that Ghana had no really golden scoring opportunities.

In the second half Cantave scored off a corner kick and the Ghanaians didn't seem to have the energy to raise their level, seeking an equalizer. Predictably, the Canadians fell back to defend with all ten bodies and the Ghanaians fizzled out.

Anyone who thought that Canada should have been a strong favorite has forgotten that in 2008 Ghana tied eventual champion Korea DPR 1-1 and only lost to Germany 3-2.

Hmm, I always thought New Zealand were stronger, but they were also quite bad during the U-20 WWC.
But why did I even think they were good in the first place?

FIFA.com has live webcasts here but depending on where you are they may be blocked. See Lusankya's post above for countries where it is available.

The first Venezualan goal is quite a beauty.

But MVP of the day may be the Canadian GK who played like a senior international, and she was busy too. Almost ruined it with a zero-pressure "fresh air" clearance but the ball went inches wide. Tough on Ghana.

Ghana was the better skilled team period - not a good situation for Canada who is trying to play pretty possession soccer. However, Canada was true to form in that their keeper and defence were very solid and their strikers very opportunistic. Also Ghana was completely bereft of any idea how to finish when the opportunity presented itself. The SOG stats tells the story...

    9-1 at half-time.

Most interesting: Can FIFA graphics deal with 15+ goals?
