    :rolleyes:i just wonder how FIFA will rank top 7 seed for next year world cup together with the host S/A?
    anyone know any news?FRANCE will be top seed?(they were second in 2006,former world champion)ARGENTINA,NETHERLAND also?or they will seed by FIFA rank list?in my opinion top 7 seed teams will be:

    SOUTH AFRICA = host ---
    BRASIL = 5 CUPS ---
    GERMANY = 3 CUPS ---
    ITALY = 4 CUPS and champion four year ago ---
    SPAIN = 2ND on FIFA rank
    ENGLAND = 7th on FIFA rank and former champion 1966 ---
    ARGENTINA = world champion 1978,1986 but struggle to qualify ---
    FRANCE ?if they qualify?NETHERLAND two times runner-up and first team to qualify?any team from north america or africa or even asia will be top seed?i do not think so though...
    my prediction for the remain team qualify world cup gonna be:

    1 FRANCE --- ireland
    2 GREECE --- ukraine
    3 PORTUGAL --- bosnia
    4 RUSSIA --- slovenia
    5 NEW ZEALAND --- bahrain
    6 URUGUAY --- costa rica
    7 ALGERIA --- egypt (3-1) ALgeria only need a tie again egypt
    8 TUNISIA --- mozambique (2-0) --- NIGERIA --- kenya (3-0)
    9 CAMEROON --- marocco (0-0) GABON --- togo (3-0)
    hope everyone share your opinion,,thanks!:p

    FIFA will most likely use a combination of the FIFA world rankings and the performance in the last 2 World Cups again - so past performances (before 2002) are irrelevant, and qualification results only insofar they influence the current FIFA rankings.

    South Africa as hosts, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Argentina and if they go through France are pretty safe bets for seeds because of this.

    At WC 2006 the seeding depended on the last 2 WC performances (as Alex wrote) and the FIFA rankings of the last 3 years (equaly weighted). Furthermore the host was seeded. More information: link.

    I expect a similar seeding system this year.
