Fifa rankings are worthless, only time they matter is when they are used for WC seeding.

Nigeria meanwhile fell to 8th in Africa after winning 6 games, drawing 1 and losing 1 in January. Cape Verde meanwhile jumps up to 3rd in Africa.

    Gotta love FIFA rankings.

The FIFA Rankings also matter for seeding in World Cup Qualifying.

You're placing too much value on the FIFA ranking.

FIFA's latest ranking for this month clearly illustrated one of the glitches in FIFA's formula that needs to be fixed, not ignored. In fact, what happened to CAF teams such as Nigeria and Ghana was so obvious that I don't see how FIFA can ignore the issue. There are some other glitches that similarly should be addressed (e.g., the confederations coefficent, the problem with hosts not getting points in qualifiers, etc). Once those glitches and flaws are fixed, FIFA's ranking can perform a valuable enough function and will tell you what these kind of rankings ought to tell you: what kind of relative results have the teams in questions gotten in the past few years?

Spain got lucky in 2010 they won win it again for another 50 years or more, same thing that happened with England they won it once but havent gotten close since.

Although I'm a fan of Italian team, but I hope that Germany will do good in World Cup 2014..
