i think that OFC should be merged with the AFC, ever since australia left it has become much weaker and there isn't much competition for new zealand. Conembol and Concacaf should merge as well, forming the Confederation of Pan-American Football Associations or COPAFA. a pan-american copa america or gold cup could challenge the european championships. the African cup of nations should be switched to every four years.

Concacaf should merge with Commebol, about time the US and Mexico earn their way to the world cup instead of having a free ride like they do now.

OFC cup semifinal New Zealand-New Caledonia 0-2:eek:

This is the latest proof, if we need any, that OFC can't be granted a full spot to WC.

but when World cup qualifying comes around NZ will blow the other teams out of the water because they acctually care and they will sent their first team.

But the difference is that they acctually get out of their group, and compete, the us had to go to extra time with Gahna to get eliminated in the round of 16. they made it to the quarter finals in 2002

But even i think Conembol and Concacaf should be merged, for different reasons.

So they get out of group once in a blue moon, so what if the US and mexico had to go through comebol to qualify there will be time where they wouldnt make the world cup and one of those times would be 2014

the US and mexico have a easy path to the world cup there is no denying that they play guyana, barbados, haiti, jamaica, panama, honduras, trinidad and tobago lolol please and they make a big deal out of qualifying... try qualifying vs colombia, chile, ecuador, argentina, uruguay, paraguay and brasil when they are not hosting.. heck if venezuela was in concacaf they would take first or second place easily

ROTFL. Mexico would have Venezuela for breakfast and USA would probably come out on top. Venezuela could vie for 2nd place, but 1st is beyond them. Honestly - Mexico is a team who regularly plays as equal against Brazil.

The US played venezuela in january and beat them with a team that had only one of their usual starters. It would be Mexico first, USA second, and Venezuela, honduras or costa rica third.

The US is better than or equal to every team in CONEMBOL except Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Mexico is even better. Heck, we beat italy in italy

LOLOL at mexico and the US being equals to comebol, so they won a few friendlies that doesnt mean jack shit... mexico in commebol wouldnt be any better than ecuador, colombia, paraguay, and uruguay, chile, brasil and argentina would murder them... as for the US they would be in the bottom with bolivia and venezuela...

    damn... you are ignorant...

Mexico has a very good head to head against EVERY CONMEBOL team except for Argentina. Mexico is top footballing nation and they would do just fine in CONMEBOL, probably being third in most competitions.

BTW: You do know Mexico just convincingly beat Brazil in a friendly?

Convincingly? lolol ok... dont forget it was brasil U-23 and it wasnt convincingly they got lucky second check the all time record of mexico vs brasil. Third Mexico is a good football nation but not a top footballing nation they are top 15-20 not top ten. And finally Mexico in Commebol could finish third sometimes but most of the times they would finish fifth or lower behind chile, colombia and uruguay as well as the obvious brasil and argentina.

Brazil U23? Thiago Silva, Hulk and Marcelo U23 players? Yes, it did feature a lot of U23 players, but those players also frequent the senior team. The starting XI featured 7 players who have been regulars for the national side and 3 other players who are on the Brasil bench...

ROTFL. Mexico is the 3/4 best in both Americas. No question about it. If it were in CONMEBOL it would almost always finish 2-4 during a World Cup qualifying campaign.

Wow... you CONMEBOL fans are pretty outrageous.

Mexico in Commebol would be the sixth ranked team and maybe lower.. right now fifa rankings which i dont take seriously but just as an example has four commebol team ahead of mexico and one a spot behind them... mexico hardly losses so they get ranked high but they hardly lose cause they play teams like guyana, barbados, jamaica, panama all the time to qualify..

    e
if they had to go through colombia, chile, argentina, ecuador, uruguay to qualify their ranking would be a lot lower.. the only reason Fifa doesnt merge commebol with concacaf is because they need the US tv market and mexico as well so they rather have the US and mexico qualify through and easy draw so that univision, espn and other big networks dish out the money for world cup rights

In what way is mexico worse than Ecuador, colombia, paraguay, or chile. they are probably as good or better than uruguay as well. good luck with spain, puerto rico.

This year mexico has played your beloved Colombia and Venezuela. they beat venezuela 3-1, and lost to colombia 0-2. but they also beat brazil 2-0 a week ago.

Put the North and Central American teams in CONMEBOL and make the CFU (carribean) it's own confederation (it'd be tougher than the OFC) and than the champs of CFU can face the champs of the OFC for WC bid. Total wishful thinking on my part

that's a great idea have the caribbean play the OFC in a playoff for one spot at the world cup and unite conmebol with concacaf and give them eight slots

Mexico and US wont allow that to happen because they rather have it easy than have to really earn a birth in the world cup

NACAF - 10 North and Central American countries.

CFU - All Islands in the CFU

CONMEBOL - 13 members, include Surinam, Guyana and French Guyana

    CAF - Africa

UEFA - Take away Turkey, Russia, the 3 Caspian countries, Israel and Kazhakistan.

WAFC - West of India + the former Europe countries

EAFC - India and East (maybe include Pakistan, Afghanistan and a few other Stan countries)

    OFC - Same as.

CFU and OFC would play each other for 1 FIFA spot.
