DISCLAIMER: Andres (Viscaelbarca) won't be able to start the match threads for the Club World Cup matches so I've been asked to 'unretire' from thread making and start the threads for both matches. Please note that I cannot reach the high bar that Andres has set with his thread making, so you'll have to make due with the primitive style I used a couple of seasons ago. As per forum Terms of Service... Although Barcelona's opponent is now known as of this posting, forum rules dictate that the subject title not display which team won the Auckland City v Atlante match for 24 hours since some people who are viewing the forum may not know the result and will want to watch a recording or replay without knowing who won (FSC did NOT show the match live in the U.S.). On Sunday a moderator will edit the thread title to display the winner of the match. So if you don't want to know who won the match, you may want to exit this thread right about now. If you know or want to know who won the match, you're free to scroll down and post in this thread. Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] Top of the world, ma!! I wonder if Super Rafa makes an appearance in this game. Be nice to play against a FMF team.
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] Altante isnt the same team anymore....they lost players and arent playing near as good...should be easy for barca actually i take that back....they should be at least a decent challenge
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] ^ Most decisive post of the week... Anybody else know much about Atlante?
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] I think they came in 6th in the Mexican League, Barca should win this game by strength but be wary of Atlante's speed they have a small guy that stands 5'6 nick name( El Hobbit Burmudez) he has alot of speed and good coordination with the ball and not a bad aim either. The goalie is Vilar a Argentino and they also got Solari who used to play at Real Madrid. Other than that the other players are mediocre.
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] I remember that guy. In that case... set phasers to KILL.
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] Oh yeah and I forgot to mention the guy who scored the last goal against Aukcland (Silva) he is Brasilian. Is Messi fit for this game, I heard he had a second degree spained ankle?
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] He certainly won't play against Atlante, and the final (presuming we advance) is only 3 days later...
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] You haven't lost your skills, mate... thanks!
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] I agree. Thanks for setting this one up, unclesox.
Looking forward to watching Barcelona live at Zayed Sports City on Wednesday. PS: Feel free to stop by the FIFA board.
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] Surprise these games are not on ESPN360 since its a Fifa event.
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] If you have Fox Sports Espanol then your in bussiness other wise your out of luck, uless you find a live stream on the web
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] Should be easy, but el Hobbit is quick. The guy is really good. Hopefully Rafa plays because Atlante also has a Rafa Marquez Lugo. He is a striker, so I can see the English language commentators having a few mess ups there.
Re: FIFA Club World Cup, Semifinal : TBD - FC Barcelona : 16 Dec 2009 [R] Always fun when the commentators are placed in a situation like that. I remember during the '86 World Cup England had two players named Gary Stevens. Spanish commentators ended up using their middle names to identify the two players (Gary Andrew Stevens and Gary Michael Stevens) while english commentators referred to them as "Gary Stevens of Tottenham" and "Gary Stevens of Everton".
Thanks a lot for setting up this one Unclesox, you clearly are still the man. I am watching the 2nd half of the Auckland City vs Atlante now, It is pretty boring... LOL. I am looking forward to watching this semifinal... BTW, isn't that former LPB Solari playing for Atlante? I have to admit though that he has been very complementing of Barça lately!
I know this is the thread for the Semifinal but figured some might like to see this short piece on some of the recent struggles of Estudiantes, who most expect Barca to meet in the final: http://sports.yahoo.com/soccer/news?slug=goal-estudiantescrammingaheadoft&prov=goal&type=lgns
3-0 for Barca tomorrow BTW Atlante has a striker named Rafael Marquez... be fun to see if both are on the field at the same time.
