Caicedo is a complete moron...wtf is he doing...if he claims to want to be part of the NT and represent his country you show self restraint, if the allegations are true he has a reason not to call him up

I'm looking at it from Caicedo's point of view and the kids probably upset with the FEF. I'm surprised Benitez has never said sh*t either. Chiriboga puso en cara demasiadas veces en la ultima eliminatoria que "nuestra seleccion no tiene gol", "necesitamos delanteros de jerarquia", blah blah blah. Same sh*t we all said about those two guys last qualifiers. All that criticism is directed towards those two players- how do you think they feel about it? IMO Chiriboga shouldn't be judging or giving tips to coaches, he needs to mind his own business and let the coaching staff handle theirs. That's most likely Caicedo's problem. He gets a smile from Chiriboga when he's face to face then he gets spit on when he turns around. You guys don't think Neicer Reasco felt offended when Chiriboga talked sh*t about him in the Copa America? Most likely he did. That guy has given Ecuador his all and been part of the most successful set of players that took us to a round of 16 in a world cup. You don't give someone that legendary such awful treatment. That the same reason Mendez, Carlos Tenorio, Ivan Hurtado, el Tin, Ulises, and all these other players have negative opinions and feelings about "como se maneja la federacion". They've said it multiple times.

I'm glad Caicedo stands up for himself and doesn't support that mafia. He has self respect. f*ck the FEF and f*ck Rueda, I'm with Caicedo.

As much as I want to support Felipao on this one , I can't ... we need him for qualifiers that start next month (WTF)

The question I want to ask is what did the FEF and Rueda do or say ( or are still doing ) for one of its star players to respond like that. I think there is a lot to this story that we don't know about.

or maybe Rueda is still experimenting on his player management skills too ; )

Well this comes as no surprise, F. Caicedo is a long shot to be called up for the game against Venezuela. Caicedo might have his reason to dislike Rueda and the FEF, and there's a lot more to this story prob, but like I said Caicedo should show restrain and be careful what he says because it could very well get him excluded. Looks as if Rueda and the FEF are going to make an example of Caicedo.

He's out of the NT for this game vs. Venezuela and most likely for the rest of the games as long as Rueda is coach. Unless he apologizes to them personally. Jaime Ayovi has that starting spot 100% in his hands now with no competition. That's the same sh*t that happened last qualifier. Caicedo and Benitez had no competition so no matter what, they knew they would start every game. I put money Narciso Mina is Caicedo's "replacement". And I'm pretty sure Juan Anangono will make the list this time.

Felipe Caicedo saved Rueda's ass during the Qualifiers and they repay him like that. This Rueda guy is a horrible excuse of a coach. Ecuador has to do something about this clown. Scare him, make him run away from the country. This man's attitude is disgusting and he has no business being here. It makes me sick having this colombian ruining our reputation!

It's funny how instead of actually trying to approach the problem from a reasonable perspective, they just up and kick him off the team. Engage the situation, see what he meant with his statements, and find out if the rest of the team agrees/disagrees. Then make a decision. It sucks when Chiriboga and Rueda are out there fanning the flames of petty DRAMA. As directors and leaders they should be the first to try and supercede the bs.

Veo muy mal a Ecuador para el primer partido de eliminatoria, el equipo llega muy mal por dentro, creo que seria casi un milagro si ganan ese primer partido....

I don't think they're overrated. I actually think they've been underrated in the past 6 years or so. That's the reason teams are recently getting "surprised" when they play with venezuela and end up losing. Opponents enter the game thinking it's gonna be cake, and as Manolo says, Venezuela has been taking advantage of that. Player by player, we do have more quality and quantity. And Way more quantity with quality than they do. But as a NT, they function much better than we do. And it's proven. There was pessimism entering the last Qualifier (for different reasons), but people ignored it or at least tried to ignore it and thought ecuador would come through with good futbol either way and qualify to the WC. Look what happened. I was caught by surprise and by the game vs. Chile in Quito i knew we wouldn't Qualify (even though we won that game) to the WC b/c there was a lack of goals and way too much missing on a constant basis. But AT LEAST, i could say we played good futbol. The intentions were seen and the aggressiveness of the NT was felt. I don't see half of the futbol we used to play in todays team. On top of that, the corruption in the FEF, the anger/rejection towards the NT in the heart of the fans, misunderstanding b/t the coach/FEF and certain players, and the lack of good futbol make me believe there's going to be more pressure this time on the NT. This time, the fans aren't giving the NT a warm welcome into the Qualifiers- for starters. And for a group of basically NEW players who have little experience in the international level, it's really questionable how they are going to handle all this pressure. But like I said before, if we actually DO WIN against Venezuela it will be a boost of confidence in everyone. We lose or even tie, and i can guarantee you we won't qualify. That easy.

We certainly have the talent to beat Venezuela, but talent alone isn't enough to win. I watched Venezuela in the Copa America, and one thing i can say abotu them is that they might not stack up in pure talent like Argentina and Brazil but they work collectively and compete the whole ninety minutes. They're also led by a great coach who know their players and the style that best suits them. Venezuela is no pushover, at least not anymore. The players should go into this game with a must win mentality. Anything less and things will get ugly.

The lineup I want to see in this game is:

GK:? Achilier, Morante, Erazo, Ayovi, Valencia, Suarez, Noboa, Castillo, Benitez, Ayovi.
