Very Disappointing result. Hats off to City. Not everyday Porto lose at home. This result will make it very tough for Porto to get through the way we have been playing
How do they blow the whistle when we have a corner? Weird. Disappointing second half from both defending and attacking. Helton should have stayed in net but Alvaro shouldn't have touched the ball either. Should have used his body to shield Balotelli from the ball which would have trickled out or to Helton (whether he was that far out or not). I don't know what happened to the attack in the second half but it looked much like our usual attack this season.. not good.. No proper positioning, players all on top of each other, and mostly disappointing, all those back heel passes into the box instead of shooting. It's like we wanted to WALK the ball into the net. We need to take more shots. I have 0 faith will advance now, 2 away goals will be too much to come back from. Sporting, have fun with these guys in the next round.
Unfair on Porto after a convincing start, but City's team must be worth 3/4x yours (if you don't include that ridiculous 90€ price tag put on Hulk)
In the first half Porto were playing some beautiful attacking soccer. Varela was better in the ST role then Hulk was, thats how they should have lined up. Anyways, still a 2nd leg to play.
Man city will eliminate Sporting as well and that will be the end of portuguese teams in europe this year. sad but true.
They played a very defensive lineup being away and all. I expect a much more offensive lineup in Manchester as Dzeko, Aguero were benched.
