Fasten your seatbelts 'cause we're about to officially begin with the new season.
While we still have some time to prepare for the new La Liga campaign, the Road to Rome starts this Wednesday at 21:45 CET for us. Although it seems like a reasonably easy encounter against Wisla, the seriousness must start now.

This thread is for all the news and discussion not directly related to a specific match, i.e. it is a General Discussion thread. Also, the transfer window is open until the end of August, so all the rumours and news regarding transfers should be discussed in the Transfers thread.

Let's hope this season will live long in our memories as a very successful one. It would be a nice way to mark 110 years of Club existence, which is due next year. Cheers!

Absolutely cannot wait! I've got a very good feeling about this season. Actually, last year I thought that the "Fantastic Four" hype was overblown and reminded me of the galacticos era at Real Madrid. This year I think we'll be a much more balanced team and disciplined (due to Pep). I was really hoping Real would get C. Ronaldo so that we could kick his butt in La Liga...oh well, there's always next year. Glad I bought the away jersey this year...waiting for the Messi #10 nameblock to come out. The home jersey reminds of a Star Trek uniform. GO BARCA!!!

BTW this season will be good imo, WE have to take every game seriously, we will be good if there is commitment from the player for the team. GO PEP.

Return match against Wisla is Tuesday, season opener against Numancia the following Sunday.

I know, it's like I waited a week for a Barça match (Gamper notwithstanding), and there's still a week til the next one.

He might be back in Europe but my guess is he will need a little rest.

You are right the Wisla match is too early for Messi to play... However, SPORT is suggesting the following lineup for the CD Numancia match Which includes Messi... They think that it should be Barcelona's main lineup for the season....

    What do you think?

Looks like a fine bunch to me. But then again, there's another fine bunch that will be sitting on the bench ready and eager to jump in.

wow... looking at that and thinking about the players we have on the bench, I can't help but notice how VERY deep and versatile our squad is. I have a good feeling about next season. Visca el Barca!

LOL am I the only one that thinks Keita should be on the bench and Yaya have his position? How can SPORT suggest that will be the main line-up for the season? Tower of Power has got that position on lockdown, Keita has to fight for it.

    I was thinking the same.
And I'm guessing Milito will gain his spot back once he returns. Quite a ways from that though.

Toure should start no questions asked.

I don't know about Milito. He looked incredible towards the beginning and mid season but was a disaster towards the end and he looked very shakey in the CL. Marquez has looked solid in the pre-season. If his form continues he should be the main starter.

Agree on both accounts. Either way, this team is looking scary deep.

Reposting this from the NSR forum since Bazz and I are the only ones in the league so far. :(
You have until La Liga kicks off next Saturday to join if you want to score points from Jornada 1. You can still join afterwards but you'll miss out on Week 1 scoring.

I know I was in contention for much of last season but I didn't keep up with it the final 3-4 weeks of the season due to Barça's poor run bumming me out.
Anyone know who ended up finishing first?
