as i told a couple of you guys in person last night... i cant even figure out where im at emotionally about last night.... im relieved to have this craptastic season finally behind me, and im sad that there is no more lot 8 for 5-6 months. Jaime's retirement is bittersweet as well, seeing him--the last piece of the glory years-- go is about as pleasant as forking my eyes out, but seeing him get that last goal and retire as THE #1 goalscorer in MLS history was simply amazing.
Nice post. We definitely made a lot of memories last night-good and bad. Mostly good for me because of the intensity of emotion and some old-fashioned Barra noise as we got to see Jaime play and score. I'm hoarse today-that's a positive reminder of last night. A high point for me was shaking Jaime's hand and thanking him personally for all he's done.
Last night was a great way to celebrate Jaime's career - defintiely good energy despite the loss. I brought two friends that have never been to a US soccer game and both mentioned that they had an awesome time. In the two or three months I've been a Barra member, whether I show with friends or by myself, I have a great time, meet good people, and am generally impressed by the positive, open attitude in the community. Looking forward to more beers, more Barra Brava, and hopefully more wins next season. Vamos United!
