Anyone have any updates on his chances at playing in the WC.

Bought a Falcao home jersey (should have bought the red in hindsight - still looking for a blue Columbian Tracksuit) on the hope he makes it back.

Will look pretty silly if he doesn't.

    ColOmbia.

And on another note, the best way to keep up on a player's status of Colombia, you best check the 'Colombians aboard' section. It's helpful.

    I admitted my mistake.

If I didn't admit my mistake - I could see you being angry.

What more do you want me to do!

He's just pulling your teeth man. Ignore him.

Here's a simple answer for your original question. Falcao is currently walking and being active in his light training, the doctors says that he will most likely return. So far everything is going well.

    Thanks for the update.

    Promising news for sure.

Hopefully he can be somewhat healthy in the matches for Colombia.

Still looking for one of the track suits they were wearing their last friendly.

    Pure class.

Not really. They say he is ahead of schedule and is healing very well.
But he said he is not going to play unless he is 100%.
So it is still a coin flip in my opinion.

That concerns me that there has been no more news.

I thought he was supposed to have an MRI recently and haven't seen the results - which also concerns me.

They said he can't run for 5 weeks like 2 weeks ago. We won't hear anything for another 2-3 weeks about him. He works out basically 5-6 days a week. On a bike and walking everywhere with doctors. Guy must be walking 5-10 miles a day.

They just don't want him to run because are afraid he might tear up his knee again. He is playing with the ball and passing again they just don't want to rush him too quickly. He is recovering well and quickly with the best doctors in the world. If its at all possible for him to recover he will. Tho he said he isn't going to reinjure himself to make it.

They said the most important thing is he kept his spirt up and that he trains every day and not give up hope. He looks good and happy. It all comes down to when he can run again. Obviously we won't call him up if he can't run. Till the doctors see him running and see how he feels then no new news will be available.

I highly doubt we will see him in the 1st round of the WC. Probably not even in the last 16. In the last 8 he is going to open the biggest can of whoops ass Brazil has ever been handed

While it's not a fair comparison, but in 2010, Arjen Robben had a leg injury prior to the world cup.

    Group Stage:
Game 1: DNP (i went to this game)
    Game 2: DNP
Game 3: Sub for last 20 minutes of match

    Knockout Round:
Game 4: Started played 70 minutes
Game 5: Started played full match
Game 6: Started played full match essentially
    Final: Played Entire match

There's too many moving parts with this situation that i don't know what is best. Ideally i want Falcao to recover and be fit enough for the world cup and gradually accumulate minutes without any serious relapse etc; given his style of play - hopefully he can come back from this injury with stand the world cup at a form than can give him another 4 strong years!

Unlike Falcao Robben is used to play injured lol....
but seriously is a shame that Robben had so many injuries throughout his career, he is such a great player

In sure most footballers are used to being injured though. Even amateurs

I say we keep Falcao as our supersub. I think that if's not 100%, the weeks we spend playing the group stages would be the best way to keep him in fitness high while he continues to recover.
