http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,14546,-4446724,00.html At last, a balance of realism with some nice positive quotes from people in the league. But he better improve quickly like we all hope he will, if he's going to get the chance to play for Chelsea some day
"The future is bright but he has to keep his feet on the ground and not get his head in the clouds. He needs to realise everything requires work and work for the team," Nowak said. Gosh, he has a way with words, doesn't he?
Has anyone noticed he keep switching who his favourtie team is? One time is was Man Utd, then it was Madrid, now its Chelsea?! Somebody has to stop speaking for this kid..
The kid IS being spoken for ..................... by money. Man U was the big buyer, then Madrid, now Chelsea with Roman A. He is following the money trail.
Is THIS the article which someone said would be coming out. I recall someone mentioning that they saw or met someone from an english paper or magazine at the Rapids/United match and they were glad it was a good night for Adu. Either way decent article, I enjoyed De La Torre's statement, course I still wish he would shower once in awhile.
Excellent stuff. One of the few Freddy articles that doesn't require strong black coffee to cut the sugar. But he'll only be 5' 8" when he's taller than Nowak, not shorter.
I too noticed this. I don't think it's unusual though. If anything, it's just good marketing. He knows that everytime he mentions a new team he gets his name in that city's paper. How can a 15 y/o kid from Ghana/Florida/DC really be loyal to any Euro club team. He likes who he sees on TV.
Freddy Adu is a Bandwagon fan? What other reason could anyone possibly have to follow Chelsea? Other than that tidbit, it was a reasonable article. I'm not sure how much of a good thing it is that Adu is getting attention from the foreign press. I'd much prefer the team as a whole get a bit of recognition (if for nothing else than our futility in corner kicks) but I understand and accept that sport is all about celebrity and personalities. Oh well, maybe while the correspondant was at the game he noticed some of the other players...
