I don't think that Kjaer was a mistake or his fault. It may have been his pick, and he showed up to a couple of games, but it's defintely a mental thing.

Kjaer is still a good pick-up, just not the game changing Definitive CB he was hoped to be at 22

This year I have seen Kjaer make some game-changing stops, so there is definitely still a lot of potential from the 22 year old

I kind of agree about Kjaer. I think he's had some bad luck handed to him (a BIT similar to Bojan), and has had two terrible calls against him...yeah, I realize he probably shouldn't have been in that position in the first place. He's definitely not a good/great CB, at this point. A decent option is all - and he's still young. We have him on loan, so either way...

exactly..... I think the best solution is to buy him for half his buyout price. Will Wolfsburg agree to this? I doubt it. I think his buyout is now at 8 million euro's, I think he is worth about half-that. It's gonna be a tough one for Sab's.

Directing this post to the transfer market for the summer which I am going to now create

Hahaha Borini finally got a nickname from Zampa!

Ho trovato il soprannome per Borini....... "Il Diavolo della Tasmania"

I remember Mexes being pretty damn frustrating to watch as well when we first acquired him back in 2004, only to eventually develop into one of the best defenders in Serie A. Whenever I watch Kjaer I kinda see him as having the same potential. There have been moments where he's shown glimpes of his true talent, but unfortunately the frustrating moments have outnumbered the good ones. I still think he can develop into a good CB with time, but as far as I'm concerned he's nowhere near ready to be a starter in one of the top leagues in Europe for a club that is looking to challenge for a CL spot.

Back to the topic of the thread, it looks like Borini's stock is gonna increase a little more. Rumor has it that Prandelli might look to call him up for Italy's next friendly match. A 20 year old striker getting a call up to the senior side is definitely a huge deal, no matter what way you look at it.

Wasn't sure if he'd get the call....Italy has a lot of solid strikers in-form at the moment. But surely Osvaldo would be welcome in my eyes.

If Fabio went it would be in Osvaldo's spot.

Balotelli & giovinco are the only ones locked to go IMO.

Then there is cassano, rossi with there injuries & health. if they are back, they will get the other 2 spots.

then there is group of players fighting pazzini, matri, osvaldo, borini, quagliarella, di natale etc

Would be very stupid not to take Giovinco and Balotelli.

I think it will be 5 strikers, not 6. its the normal case.

    3 keepers, 4 center backs, 4 full backs, 7 midfielders, 5 strikers.

my choice balotelli, giovinco, rossi, cassano, matri

in case rossi and cassano miss, i replace them with borini & osvaldo.

di natale is too old,, quagliarella is not playing much..and pazzini with his performance is dropping too much in the hierarchy

Why are people still so hung up on bringing Rossi and Cassano? Rossi has a slight change. But still not having played all season what type of form can he possibly have. He's not the superman some people make him out to be anyhow, and he'll be there completely out of shape. Cassano on the other hand has no chance of going, of the two he's the one that should go even if he's out of form. However he likely shouldn't even play football anymore.

Snubbing the guy based purely on age would be absolutely idiotic.
