The first of two trips to the Emirates in three days comes on Saturday when we face Arsenal Lite in the FA Cup. Of course, Arsenal Lite beat us 2-0 in the Carling Cup earlier in the season.

We'll have Butt and Smith back for this one, but Emre will be serving the second of his three-game suspension. That means we'll have 13 senior players available rather than just the 11 we had last week. I doubt Barton will figure since he's got to be home by 5. >.>

Kickoff is at 3 p.m. local time, which is 10 a.m. EST, 7 on the west coast. FSC has this game listed as airing on Jan. 31, so, it's not going to be live unless the schedule is messed up. Looks like we're p2ping it or listening on the internet for this one.

I'd like to think we can win, but we'll have little more creativity than last week, and if we attack Arsenal I'm worried we'll get ripped to shreds on the break. Though that might be somewhat more likely to happen in the league rather than the Cup.

Arsenal's performance against Sp-rs means absolutely nothing. Keegan knows this. The players will know this. Arsenal still have a huge advantage. Anyway, I'll be at the bar for this one...

    Howay the lads!!

Remember last year when Arsenal was dumped out of all Cups and League contention over a two week period? Somehow I don't see us putting that kind of beat down on Arsenal. I'd be satisfied with a type of performance we gave them in the reverse fixture, but it may be too soon in Keegan's reign for him to have a handle on it all.

    Thx,

    Jay!

    Barton to get shock recall

Also, Adebayor and Bendtner may be in a bit of trouble for their spat on the pitch yesterday. They had a confrontation late in the game where Adebayor appeared to headbutt and push Bendtner, and Bendtner suffered a bloodied nose. The FA are looking into the video footage to see if any punishment should be meted out.

A great birthday gift would be a draw at least.

Keegan hasn't had much time with the players yet, and what time he has had has been split between training and working on bringing in the two or three new faces he has been talking about, so I don't know how much of an impact his philosophy can have made as yet on the team. My fear is that the game will find the players half way between BSA's defensive approach and Keegan's attack mentality and not always sure which way to go. Arsenal is one team that can certainly exploit any uncertainty of that type on the pitch. Still, I think we'll do okay as the team will be giving their all to impress the new manager and make sure they stay in the starting 11 in coming weeks. A draw would be nice, with a home replay in a few weeks after more Keegan time and (hopefully) an expanded roster.

Still think it's funny how both Dyer AND Bowyer now play for West Ham.

No disciplinary action to be taken against Adebayor. Damn, was hoping he'd get suspended for a game or two.

I'm not scared. You lot aren't as good as ManU.

This looks like an invitation to come and over and visit the Arsenal boards...

    Arsenal Game LIVE on PPV

Mod, feel free to lock this up, as I know there is already a thread on this game, but as a public service, the game will be available LIVE on PPV.

On DirecTV, at least, it is Channel 121 and $15.95.

Call your pubs, and harass your cable company if not available to you. Howay!

The Arse is definalty having identity problems right now. They talk like Man U, they fight each other like Souness era Newcastle and, this week, they played like Derby County. :D

The lack of same day coverage in the states is going to suck, but I can survive that, especially compared to my wife's reaction if I spend $15 on pay per view, which I probably wouldn't survive....

Re: Arsenal Game LIVE on PPV

Uh, Mod, respectfully, the reason I started this new thread was so people didn't have to dig through the other one just to find this info, especially considering the first post in the game thread had the WRONG information. Like I said, if you want to lock the thread to replies, that's fine, but I started it with a new subject for a reason. Thank you, and we all appreciate the work you do here.

Re: Arsenal Game LIVE on PPV

Then correct it in the game thread. There's no need for duplicate threads. People are smart, they'll figure it out.

And, there was nothing wrong with the information I posted, if anything it was maybe incomplete. It will not air live on FSC, it will air on Thursday next week. They did the same thing with the Man United-Villa game last round, delayed its debut a couple of days.
