Europa League sucks and is a time wasting competition for midget teams and only make our best players more tired. No.
We can do without the CL money now and that top players only sign for teams in CL is a myth. So, priority should be winning the cup but Everton have hard games ahead. I think we do both.
And let's face it, Everton fans, I think, would be just fine with Europa league. If we win all 4 of our remaining, we'll sneak 4th, no doubt.
Are you sure about that? Liverpool have been out of the CL for what, 8 years? Unpopular...but CL for me. Although we can and should have both.
Liverpool were in the 2009-10 Champions League. They came damn close to winning the Premier League the season before.
Not even close for me. FA cup all the way. I have not experienced winning a trophy since I became an Arsenal fan in 2007(emirates cup doesn't count), and winning this would be awesome. But I feel like there is no reason why we cant do both.
A lot of people seem to think he's going to bow out. I really don't see it. If we win the cup and finish 4th I think he stays to see this long term project through.
Yep. even with the win, this side needs an overhaul and rebuild. You don't get stomped on 21-4 away against your top competitors--many of the biggest blowouts int the AW era happened this year. If that's not a distress signal, lord knows what is. There are many players who are not close to being good enough and need to go. Not talking about the Niks , Parks, and Djorou's. Those are beyond trash.
Disagree. I want more European trophies. Spurs have no right in this universe to have more of them than we do.
I agree. I think he wants to win the league again, and this season's challenge shows he still has it (to himself at the least). I can see him going on until 70, like Sir Alex did.
I can't see us winning the CL for a few years. To tell the truth, I don't think we'll win it as long as Arsene is manager. (flame me people, but then it's just an opinion )
My sentiments exactly. Screw continental competition altogether. Look at what a season without European distractions has done for Liverpool. At this point a trophy is badly needed to get people to stop talking about the dry spell more than another useless season in the Champions League is.
I honestly don't care about the FA Cup, but if winning it shuts up the announcers about the trophy drought and would leave us with a trophy and Chelsea's cupboard barren this year, I'd take it. CL hasn't been enjoyable as a gunner for some time and it ********s us over badly every February or March in PL.
I will never understand how people under value the importance of the FA Cup. It's such an incredible tournament with rich history and after following the cup for most my life I would be over the moon seeing the lads hoist it.
I respect your view, but this is bull. (and no that isn't a contradiction)... Olympics is about the gold, playing rubgy union is about the Six Nations/World Cup/Tri Nations. Playing golf and tennis is about the Majors, and playing gridiron is about the superbowl. The POINT of sport is to win, and there was and is no trophy for 4th place. ********, we're Arsenal, we have a proud history of winning trophies for many decades, I want another trophy, not 4th place in a competition we have little chance of winning in the next 2 or 3 years.
Have to agree, 9 years of nearly missing out or being an also ran is not good enough, not for a club of our size.
How about both? Anyway, to clarify, sure, winning the FA Cup is a nice consolation prize, but the PL is what I really want. It makes this season better than most, but I don't view it as a great season because of the cup win. Considering what we could have done in the PL, I'll probably still see this season largely as a missed opportunity. I wouldn't be terribly upset if we didn't make CL just to give our players a chance in PL because I don't think that we're going to buy the depth required to make a run CL and PL.
