Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 First signs of the removal of restriciton of recruiting by distance ?
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Chelsea have 18 scholars as best I count, 11 have already played for the U18s and another is a full international already.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 CAF has a thread on Yussif Adam http://www.redcafe.net/f40/yussif-adam-350678/
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Quite a strong intake that. Only Mugabo not English and I think there is a German defender Leander Siemann as well. u15s we know are Elliot Wright and Jordan Brown.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 What language are you talking? That is unbelievable. Strong Elnglish grouping as well. Think its 13 players who have played for England in this years u16s and last years u16s (Just including Baker). Obviously some of them only club u16 players next year still.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Possibly. But clubs are allowed to agree scholarships with players from this years u14 age group. The u14s as of 1 July are open to being taken more easily. Derby will feel a bit disappointed they couldn't agree a scholarship deal with him before Man Utd came in.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 MAN UTD INTAKE Kieran O'Hara Callum Evans Ben Barber Nicolas Iaonnou Ryan McConnell Josh Harrop Andreas Perreira James Wilson Ash Fletcher So not too bad I suppose. I heard there was a large non-English contingent. They are possibly adding Irish u16 captain Noe Baba. I guess that mean Ryan Shields is an u15 along with Joe Riley and Dev Redmond. Other players names to watch are Luke Daly and Elliott Rokka in future years.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Forest have a small u16 intake as the intakes on either side are bigger (u17 & u15). Probably the smallest amount of English youngsters we've offered scholarships to ever. Ross Durrant Aaron Myles Deimantas Petravicius Wilfried Gnahore Jake Mulraney Derrick Otim Danny Elliott There may be a defensive addition or two.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 At least one of Chelsea's scholars has been offered/accepted a pro contract when he's 17 as well. I suspect that as many as 5/6 others have the same but only one confirmed (Dion Conroy). Mitchell Beeney Ben Killip Fankaty Dabo Jordan Houghton Andreas Christensen Dion Conroy Jonathan Muleba Kevin Wright Jess Starkey George Cole Ruben Loftus-Cheek Ambrose Gnahore Isak Ssewankambo Bertrand Traore Reece Mitchell Alex Kiwomya Islam Feruz Chike Kandi
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Only seen him twice and he is a promising talent. Tall and gangly but with a lovely touch. As for next years scholars, these were announced before Jan. Angus Gunn Ashley Smith Brown Jack Byrne (irish) James Horsefield Sam Jones (wales) Marcos Lopez (portugese) Joan Angel Pozo (spanish) Plus rumours of a few more signings maybe. They will add to the 2nd years which will be. Ian Lawlor, Shay Facey, Ellis Plummer, George Swan, Sadiq El Fitouri, Greg Leigh, George Evans, George Glendon, Louis Hutton, Devante Cole, Jordi Hiwula. Which looks like a very very talented squad. Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 On the bottom piece. Shields is u16 and I just don't think offered a scholar. Didn't go to Slovakia or Brazil with Man Utd Youth squads.Talk is that Redmond may not be staying at Utd either supposedly. But club u15 Joe Riley did go on both those tours with u18s to Slovakia and u17s to Brazil. He was also in the enlarged England u16 squad of 40-odd but hasn't been picked yet. Can play in defence and midfield.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Maybe Revelationx could step in here with Liverpool Not sure who has scholars or all of them will but this u16 squad with some playing u18s already. GK: Ryan Crump RB: Tom Brewitt (u15) CB: Lloyd Jones, Jordan Williams, Daniel Cleary, Niall Heaton (Bradford) LB: Joe Maguire MF Jordan Ibe (Wycombe) Seyi Ojo (u15) (MK Dons) Cameron Brannagan Connor Randall Alex O'Hanlon Nathan Burke Jordan Rossiter (u15) Iaia Embarlo STR Callum Pilkington (Bradford) Jerome Sinclair (u15) (West Brom) Louis Roubles (u15) Will Marsh (u15) (Wrexham)
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Despite the astonishing numbers we're also certain to have some current U15s involved (obv as U16s next season). Jeremie Boga, Connor Hunte and Charlie Colkett have all already played and have recently been in training regularly with the reserves, plus Ola Aina and Aaron Hayden are England U16 internationals who'll probably get a look.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 And possibly a foreign keeper also joining. Why Beeney has not got a look for Eng I've never understood enough.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 So Pozo is really going to City. What a talent he is. Marcos Lopez is also a huge talent. City are really stepping it up at youth level. With Rekik and Denis Suarez as well (and Scapuzzi and Guidetti do not look too bad either), they are going in the right direction. Obviously City dont want to spend ridiculous money again when the players they just bought for big money get old. They want to be developing top class players like Arsenal but without having to sell their best players every summer and I think they will be successful doing that. Chelsea tried that but has not worked for them because of poor scouting and lack of a manager with a long term plan and lack of patience with young players ( they should have done their best to keep Borini and Gokhan Tore). They have Bruma,Courtois,McEachran,Kakuta,De Bruyne, van Aanholt,Romeu and Lukaku to be honest but it will take time. They should have had players like that at those ages 2-3 years ago.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Chelsea Charlton youth game finished 0-0. Blackman, who had a great game, went off injured, hopefully not a big one. The liverpool Marseille game is going on at Cobham, strange that it was a behind closed door one.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Yeah was pictured in a City suit on his twitter last week. Rekik and Suarez look promising, Guidetti is a HUGE talent and should play at least 25 games next year for us if he comes back. Scapuzzi won't make it, he's just here to fill in as at U18 and reserve level we have 3 strikers. So we have got a few decent foreign lads coming through but also got a few english and local lads coming through. Wouldn't be surprised if next years side did the double. Beat Everton 2-1 this morning to go 6 points clear with a game in hand. Team: Lawlor, Kennedy (Facey 73), Plummer, Meppen-Walter, Leigh, Evans (Glendon 71), Drury (El-Fitouri 90), Huws, Hiwula, Rusnak, King
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Sinclair started for Liverpool u18s yesterday and Rossitter and Ojo came off the bench. All 3 made their u18 debuts and all 3 are club u15s.
Re: FA Academy Pemier League 2011/12 Jordan Ibe made his debut for the LFC U19s in the NexGen third place match against Marseille. He only turned 16 in December. Highlights of the match below.
