Good news, hopefully El Coco has cable TV. It's nice to see him revive his career. For a gallina I always respected his abilities.

He is now averaging just about a goal a game. Here's a nice video tribute commemorating his first year at Bordeaux.

    Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Two superb strikes and with every game and goal the nightmare of Spartak just fades away :)

This is the Cavenaghi we expected to see in Europe!

    Take note Basile!

Agreed! What brilliant timing on beating the off-side trap on that second golazo. If he doesn't earn a call from El Coco then somethings wrong.

Pure class! Laurent Blanc had been downplaying the cup for a while now because he doesn't believe that the team could have won against the likes of Bayern, & Villareal even if they got by Anderlecht. Big mistake in my opinion. You never know when these opportunities will present themselves so you gotta go all out and try to win a competition as long as you're in it.
I understand that he wants to focus on the league, first and foremost. Still, he shoulda started Cave and the team would have surely qualified.
What an incredible vain of form the great Cave has hit though. He's scoring left and right...Next stop, the national squad.

Fantastic news for Ligue 1 :) Last time an Argentinian striker playing in France was called up was for Saviola.

Nah, I don't think it's that many. I believe he's scored 18 goals in the 32 games he's been with the team in all competitions. Of course, he did not start all those games. His scoring average has been pretty sick since this year started. It hovers somewhere around 1 a game but it's not quite there.
I'll have to look back and see the exact figures.

He has 17 goals in 17 'starts' so far this season :)

17 goals in 26 appearances in total which in itself is superb!

Minutues wise though he's only played between 17-18 games in total, nearly a goal a game!

It is so good to see him back :)

Another goal for Cavenaghi last night in Bordeaux's 2-2 draw at Lens.

He also had a goal disallowed and hit the bar with a great lob from just outside the area.

It's great to see him back :)
