The difference between Jason Collins, Michael Sam, And Robbie Rogers is that 2 of the 3 want to be professional athletes. The other really wants to be a homosexual civilian using his sexual orientation, and now quite dimmed media spotlight to be a pseudo celebrity at The Abbey.
I still think he can contribute, but big improvement over Donovan or Ishzaki seems awfully overstated.
Indeed, I was being kind. However, I'd also contend, and it's probably not a good thing, that your comment that "That may be the dumbest post of the month" is properly overstated as well. ( This is Big Soccer. I don't think that post comes within the top 10 this month.)
So is it to be a duel for dumbest post of the month, then? This seems like a thread ripe for a threadjack. I think the biggest mistake the Galaxy ever made was to let Steve Sampson go.
No the worst mistake was not truly giving Rudd Gullit enough time to properly install a sexier system of play on this team. ;-)
Magee might have been a good player but Bruce was right to get rid of him because I'm pretty sure he was a cancer in the locker room. It was all about Mike, how great Mike was. Make me puke. Good riddance to that prima donna. Besides Rogers has a better touch than Magee and - more importantly - a winners attitude that Mike could only dream of.
This would normally be my cue, but to get the thread back on track; does anyone know what Roger's status is? My last recollection was that Scott French reported on Feb. 11th that he sprained his ankle. Has he ever returned to practicing with the team? I am beginning to wonder if he will ever make the 18 again, much less get playing time.
I expect him to remain injured, remain an enigma as he misses time and never quite hits full fitness. Very sad. I'm not mad anymore, I'm just sad.
He was not on the bench at the G2 game. I think I read that he has finally started training again. Whether that is actually practicing with the team or just individual rehab training, I don't know.
