You won’t hear this from me very often but I think we as a Club just let go one of the players that gave a lot with only few… right know I feel so.. so …disappointed I cant describe how bad I feel right know just call Antonio and Jose to try to understand why ….why Justin Braun if he is the player that has the characteristics that represent our club...His heart is red and white I can’t express my disappointed I know wer sitting down with Domene in the next few weeks and he really needs to give a good explanation why he let Justin Braun go… I have not feel so disappointed since the season of 2005 live it at that
Justin Braun wasn't panning out. He had a hat trick then would go missing for 8 games, missing open net headers and botching 1v1 situations. I'm not pissed that we traded him, but that we got garbage in return for a package that included a bright spot in gerson. We're getting older and are making all our youth available at a time when we really should be rebuilding. I'm curious to see where this goes.
Mayen much like Chuckie were not going to see the turf at HDC under the current staff. If we offload some salary and got something in return I have no problem with this. I LOVE Just but we need to trust in Fraser and know that he is doing what he feels is best for the organization. I will hold any criticism until march, when we see the entire puzzle and not a couple of early pieces
You guys are crazy. this is a straight up F#<%#@ up move. this leads me to believe we arent gonna do crap with our true youth products. Gerson had the most potential to take over in the midfield from the youth products, braun is and always will be a chivas die hard. I cant believe we let him go. He wasn't the best and as I always said should have always been a super sub ( we relied on him too much as titular when he is SUPER sub material). Rey ...It's ok to be dissapointed and air out our frustrations. When we talk about it amongst ourselves it's a family affair. to the outsiders we'll show no diloyalty. I'm sorry but Jose Domene is talking out of his ass now . Gerson was the best out of all of our true youth products I might have to go into hybernation for this next season until ou ownership remembers that we are CHIVAS USA. Not columbus...not new england revolution and not san jose earthquakes. these first two moves with Smith and Riley have me really questioning this teams direction. If it continues like this I hope they change their name and move the team to west virginia. I'm so tired of this $#!+
all im saying i have faith in Antonio and Jose Domene so lets build a team that wopuld play good bring people to the satnds and that would win a championship
If the current staff isn't trusting in young talent (chuck, gerson,... Hell everyone) and has more trust in past their prime players with little left to bring (nor have they brought us anywhere near playoffs ball), then how can I say "in Fraser I trust"? Besides, he's only been here a year and has no prior experience running a club. He doesn't know our youth. You know who I trust? Jesse. Why we never signed this guy...
Do u ave faith in these 2 guys because it's the right thing to say or because they've actually earned trust? What have these 2 boludos done for our squad that can make anyone say "chill, everything's under control." Nada.
The only upside I see to giving up Valentine, and Braun is that Riley has been a starter at a clubs that have won Open Cup, playoffs, CCL, and I think he played in the MLS final with the Revs.. We lost so many games last season due to mistakes in the final minutes of the game. Not saying it was Valentines fault entirely, but a seasoned player like Riley could bring more stability to the backline. Oh yeah and he's not a Galaxy hand-me-down. Really sad to see Braun go, but it seemed like he didn't really fit in with Frasier's system. It's puzzling to let him go considering we're sorely lacking in the forward department..Hopefully we've got a forward lined up...Who's gonna score on the smurfs in San Jose now? Glad Mayen is getting another shot.
More on the Braun/Mayen trade http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/soccer/post/_/id/12666/chivas-usa-3-players-gone-riley-in That's how the Braun/Mayen-for-Riley deal was finalized." A source said Marsch wanted Braun, a former teammate, who was on Chivas' protected list, and Goats coach Robin Fraser agreed to make a deal if the Impact would draft and trade Riley, 29, one of the league's top right backs, to replace Valentin."
Justin Braun was joint top scorer last season. I don't see how people can say he's not panning out over saying that perhaps he isn't being utilized or brought to full potential. I will say that I'm happy for him and hope his reunion with JM is fruitful. I will even say that I will give Coach F the benefit of the doubt and that he knows what he's doing and getting players that he knows will fit into his system. But he better damn well get his system up and running because he just lost my favorite Goat of all time, a fan favorite who always gave his damndest best effort no matter what. Even when the team played poorly, which has been plenty of times lately, even if his desire was larger than his skill on the day, I personally enjoyed watching this kid play every week. One other thing: I can't be the only one wary of the fact that Marsch PLAYED with Braun and Mayen, already has an understanding with the, and absolutely should know how to get the best out of these two young players. Why isn't he our coach!!!
Gerson is gonna make a great "Impact" in Jessie's team. He just needs that opportunity and I'm glad Jessie is finally going to give it to him, something WE should have done....
dang Michoacano back from the dead. Its gotta be hard living out there in texas and seeing your team unravel from a distance. These are hard times to be a chivas usa fan. the ownership isn't in touch with what the fans want.
since when is riley one of the league's best backs? the versatile trujillo could do just a good job on the right side. and jazic just had a pretty good season. meanwhile, CB remains a concern.
you said it yourself - braun's effort was worth more than his skill. effort keeps you in games, skill wins them. of his 8 goals over a span of 29 games played, 6 of them were in 2 games. aside from those 2 hat-tricks, he had 2 goals in the remaining 27 games. (aka, not panning out) that being said, best of luck to him. i hope he breaks out.
Jimador- mi must say Antonio has earned my respect since day 1 Antonio-Till this day everything that he has told me he has done…..it is just that sometimes things don’t go the way you plan/ players don’t play the way you expect them to play Jose Domene – has done good things for the Club and I I’m still giving him the benefit of the doubt, I will tell you one thing he promise a few things so I will wait till march and see how the team is build .. If it all goes the way we talked … we are looking at a totally different team for 2012 more competitive that’s what we all want *** there’s a club across the hall 3DPs and a New Star looking for new fans Im sure most of the frustrations can be alleviated @ Michoacano----- Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Love you We Love you jajaaj happy to see you on the boards brother Arriva la CHIVAS....llu ES Ei...
So Montreal just traded for Ricketts and Arnaud. They officially have a better team than us. Jesse Marsch.
Paulo nagamura has been traded to sporting kc for a 1st round supplemental pick (which is really 3rd round). That's weak, i just hope the FO uses the money they have been saving by dumping Valentin, Bruan, and Nags.
http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2011/11/29/chivas-usa-deal-nagamura-skc-supplemental-pick I really new this was coming, after Kansas coach Peter Vermes said they would announce another player after trading Arnaud to Montreal. "He also hints that there is another trade that has been agreed." I was hoping to get more then just a supplemental pick. I'm hoping Simon Elliot stays for 1 more year now.
Actually, it was one of the two supplemental picks that CUSA previously gave SKC for Ryan Smith. So although there were two separate transactions, effectively CUSA traded Nagamura and a third-round supplemental draft pick to SKC for Smith. What do y'all think of Nagamura? Smith is a talented player who definitely has some solid skills, especially on the ball, but he has been a bit of a head case. Hopefully he will find personal happiness in Southern California, even though it is even farther from his home and family in England.
More on Nagamura trade from Fraser http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/soccer/news/story?id=7294941 "It's a difficult one, because Paulo is a very good player, and we're sad to see him go," Fraser told ESPN Los Angeles. "Certainly, we feel we need to make some changes, and freeing up Paulo's salary was the objective. ... We'll miss him, but we felt this was an opportunity to make some changes and free up the money." Well that explains why we agreed to get a supplemental draft pick for him.
