If you go by Adam Jahn, the Pac-12 soccer conference is tougher than MLS! Jahn has 4 goals in 9 MLS games, 5 of them starts. As a Fr. he scored 4 goals in 20 games. The next season he scored 3 goals in 18 games. In 2011 he scored 4 goals in 17 games. And in an injury-shortened season last fall, he scored 5 goals in 10 games. http://www.gostanford.com/sports/m-soccer/mtt/adam_jahn_466270.html You look at Jahn in MLS and you think "how'd that guy slip to the 53rd overall pick?" But then you look at his modest college productivity and you can see how he wouldn't have wowed the MLS coaches and TDs who saw his games (likely while scouting someone else). If he didn't go to college in Frank Yallop's backyard (or in another MLS market), I wonder if he'd have been picked at all with similar productivity.
Frank does his homework on the left coast scouting, he soaks it up like a sponge. Unfortunately he seems to discount east coast talent as well. But for every Ike Opara he finds two good players like Beitashour and Morrow. For a Garza theres a Jahn, Baca.
Ah, makes sense. Thanks for clarifying that. Jahn reminds me of Dzeko. Not that I think he's as good as Dzeko but similar play style, including being built like him as wel..
omfg, you just compared Jahn EXACTLY to Dzeko?! Jahn is not any way close to as good as Dzeko!! /troll
Agudelo is a free agent after this season right? So it's not about "transfer value," but attracting the kind of clubs he wants to go to.............................
Going from Chivas to NE isn't busting out of jail. More like going from solitary back to general population, while still in a gulag in Northern Siberia.
Just think, Juan can now brag about having played for not one but BOTH of the worst owners in league history! AND the Red Bulls on top of it. So young and already quite the interesting resume.
Let's hope Agudelo can bag a few goals and show well for a potential transfer. Being able to move on a free will certainly help.
Salgado out for another couple months http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...latest-injury-setback-former-no-1-superdraft-
Waldo would also start coming farther and farther back when he did not get the ball. Eventually he would be playing midfield. The trouble with that is you then had no forward. Waldo was a VERY good player but not the most disciplined.
