LOL as worthless a post as I ever came across. I cheer for Toronto not MLS. I'd like the league to grow but in a one off exhibition to hell with cheering for the opposition especially a game in our stadium with all our finest enemies vs some visitors for some fun.

I could care less about baseball and who wins the ASG because the Jays are going nowhere they are stuck in the hardest division with the richest teams in the AL the whole sport is boring and I couldn't care less about their ASG.

And if the NHL, MLB, NBA had a League vs whoever game and it was in Toronto with no Canadians or Toronto based players on the team you can be sure I will cheer on for whoever else because they are the less of two evils.

So have fun cheering for Blanco and Reis, but be sure to continue to do so when they visit here with their clubs since you love the league so much.

Respecting opposition is all well and good but Hamilton was representing the American League but none of that matters it was a HR derby, a skills competition has little to do with who you represent as it is more about the individual.

Don't ever question my loyalty to TFC again.

Sorry my opinion on a public forum doesn't meet your criteria of a worthwhile post. I'll try harder to bow to your whimsy in future.

    cheering for Toronto not MLS:
All I've been saying that in the name of good sportsmanship it would be nice if we cheer our FELLOW MLS players - but obviously that concept is foreign to you. Ever heard the concept "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"?

I've said before - everybody is free to cheer for who they want.
I just find the reasons people are stating for picking sides is funny.

    peace

well there's our representative now. good on ya brenny!!! now we can all cheer for the MLS.

all joking aside, unless the dynamo are playing against the FC i'd have a hard time cheering against de ro. MLs all-stars it is.

Did I say the team should be mostly TFC players? Did I?
If you are going to insult me at least show me you can read. I said at least one player and personally I really don't care what is done. Again, if you read what I am saying, I am looking more at a marketing side of things. I think my point is more then valid and the way people are reacting over the situation supports my claim. Would there be an issue if one or both of Dichio or Guevara started the game?

I will be pure Claret & Blue on the 24th.

I am very thankful that West Ham are playing the MLS, and not TFC. If the had played TFC, the would have given me a real predicament.

    Cooooome on yooooou Irons!

An MLS win does more for TFC than an MLS loss. Even if its marginal a MLS win can only help while a West Ham win can only hurt. Rooting against MLS is stupid.

Sorry if you took offense, but only the first paragraph was directed at you. The second was a generalization of people ticked there weren't TFC players on the AS team starting XI. Man, you need to relax.

All I wanted to point out, and you neglect to comment on that part of my post, is that the years you point to the Jays won their division, and the Leafs won their division with their first 100 pt season. TFC is in the middle of the league.

This game is completely retarded and its shit like this that makes us look stupid in front of the entire world. It would be okkay if the game was for charity, but for in the world of soccer games like this just don't make sense. Its a money grab and and anyone who buys a ticket to this lame even is just a loser, I say replace this game with a game like the Charity Shield with MLS XI playing another team with all proceeds going to a charity. That way all you guys who want to see the best of mls get the opportunity, without making our league complete joke infront of the world. Remember the extravogent celebrations for a win against a preseason Chelsea side, I was embarassed to even watch the game for n.a soccer.

Playing for charity will make us look smarter and less retarded?

Sure, it would be great for the charity they choose, but it doesn't change the game. It'll still be the same pre-season European side and a culmination of the best in MLS, I don't see the big difference.

    Fellow, shmellow.

You said yourself Yesterday that Baseball fans Cheer for their own League, yet today The Yankee faithful booed the crap out of Boston's players repping their league. And the Yankees might have something to gain with how well Boston players perform if they make the "World" Series with home field advantage. An MLS win does Nothing for TFC. Beating Chelsea, Fulham and Celtic has done nothing for the league and losing to West Ham will do nothing for the league. So TFC doesn't benefit either way, so we can look at the game as what it is: our Enemies vs visitors, not enemies of our enemies as they pose no threat to the league they are visitors vs our Enemies.

The Logic is perfect, I Cheer for TFC and boo Blanco, Beckham etc.
If Toronto is not there to cheer for, I still boo Blanco, Beckham etc. No change, there isn't a reason to change the course of action unless a Canadian or TFC player enter the picture.

Show me where we have a rivalry with any team like the Yankees/Red Sox do and your post might have a little value (although given the earlier response regarding JD Drew, that value would be questionable).

i dont think we'll be cheering for anyone, its an all-star game, nothing on the line, just a bunch of guys running around trying not to get hurt. i think the events around the game are going to be more of an attraction for people, the real game that week will be played on Tuesday against Montreal.

what the heck toronto FC fans!?!? There is no established starting XI yet. So you dont know if brennan, onstad or deRo will start. As for those cheering on West Ham due to the sole reason that they loathe MLS, I still fail to understand your hatred toward MLS as a whole. So much for being grateful to the league that has given you the chance to cheer on a team that would have never existed if it werent for MLS. As an earthquakes fan, i could only wish that our fan base could even be as high calibur as yours...in fact all of MLS envies you guys. The people of MLS headquarters knew this and wanted to show the world how great of a fan base you guys possessed and some of you people responded in only with scorn.

You guys have no idea what is is like to lose your team....please do not take your membership to this league for granted
