So I was looking through RSL's roster and noticed Brennan Tennelle from UC Santa Barbara. Now, according to the news reports (http://real.saltlake.mlsnet.com/new...t_id=136040&vkey=news_rsl&fext=.jsp&team=t121) as well as the transactions on our news page (http://real.saltlake.mlsnet.com/t121/news/), we drafted him in the 2008 Supplemental Draft with the 37th Overall pick in the 3rd Round.

However, the official MLS Supplemental Draft page doesn't even have him listed as being drafted (http://web.mlsnet.com/mls/events/scoreboard/supplementaldraft/2008/search.jsp). Apparently we didn't even own that pick, but instead picked Kevin Reiman with the 31st Overall pick in that round.

What's the deal? I know he's played Reserve games for us and he's still listed on the roster. Did we even draft him in the first place? Has he been waived? Is he still in the Reserves? Why has his drafting been covered up if we supposedly drafted him? I believe he's played in all of our Reserve games, but I find it odd that the Draft/Transactions is all screwy. Can someone enlighten me?

    Re: Brennan Tennelle, WTF?

I could be wrong on this, but I think we drafted him in the Superdraft, not the supplimental draft.

If you had as many heartbreaking injuries as he has had and THEN got drafted by a team that plays on TURF, you would look the same. :(

Interesting read on ESPNsoccernet about the 1999 U-17 squad. I didn't realize all the RSL connections to that team. It talks about Countess, Gregorio, Cila, Trembly and Akwari.

    Here's a link

EDIT: I missed it, too. I'm on my way to the corner and putting on my personalized dunce cap.

You missed the most important one:
And that explains why we had so many sub-MLS quality players on our roster.

Edit: Whoops, missed this whole discussion in the other thread. Now I look stupid. Well, stupider. Yes, it's possible.

As much as everyone seemed to hate the guy I have to say he hustled and he scored goalseven in his limited amount of playing time. Congrats on a good carrer Chris.

He was a player that busted his ass. Look at how well he did in his only season with Portland.

We're gonna miss Chris Brown big time. We really only had two quality players that played consistently all season last season... BOTH are ex-RSLers, Brown of course and Cameron Knowles. If Cam retires I'll cry.

*Select college seniors and Generation Adidas signees are gathering today in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., for the start of the MLS scouting combine. Games will be played tomorrow, Sunday and Tuesday. The draft is Thursday in St. Louis. A word of caution: Remember Luke Kreamalmeyer, the "revelation" of the 2005 combine? Didn't think so. My point: Don't get too excited about breathless reports that surface out of this year's event.

Yeah I read that too. Laser Luke had his moments. I think he is happy in...is it Rochester now?

I've been wondering about this, and thought maybe someone here knows: is that a step down for Espindola? I don't think I've ever heard about anyone moving to or coming from a Venezuelan league. Are they any good? I thought Venezuela was more of a baseball country.
