The hair was the source of his true and awesome power. Without it, he is worthless, meaningless, and without hope. Forever waiting for days that never come.
"One of these days it would be nice to think the full story will comes out about what possessed Manchester United to sign Bébé without anyone from Old Trafford seeing him play. Whatever the truth, the story just goes from bad to worse. Bébé travelled to Stamford Bridge for the Capital One Cup tie against Chelsea on Wednesday but watched from the stands, no longer considered good enough even on the nights when Sir Alex Ferguson plays the reserves. Bébé was not helped by a serious knee injury during an aborted loan spell at Besiktas but he is over it now and has not made it on to the bench for United this season. Tuesday will mark the two‑year anniversary since his second and last appearance in the Premier League, both as a substitute. He was left out of United's 25-man Champions League squad and his contribution so far is recognised in a YouTube video entitled "The Bébé crossing show". It lasts almost three minutes, featuring 11 of his deliveries – eight go straight out of play, three hit defenders. Bébé, to recap, cost £7.4m with Jorge Mendes, United's go-to agent, taking 30% for his GestiFute agency. Just remember that the next time Ferguson talks about the "kamikaze" spending of Manchester City or Chelsea." From the Guardian.

@joao_ruela - Bebé in an interview in Portugal:"I never took Manchester United seriously and never understood a word about what Alex Ferguson was saying." "Alex Ferguson asked me to cut my hair. I did it, but in the next day i've passed around him many times and he didn't recognize me." "Alex Ferguson is always complaining with Nani. Maybe because he always expected him to be the new Cristiano Ronaldo."
The boy has some balls to speak about the club as if it's beneath him, especially since he wouldn't make the starting 11 on my Sunday men's team.
I wonder if he meant that he never took the opportunity seriously. You'd have to be obtuse as hell to have been a homeless 3rd degree Portuguese League player, then all of a sudden be a 9million pound transfer to the best club in the world, and not wonder if this is a joke.
well I don't think any of that is true. first, it's translated. second, he knows the good opportunity he has but - as sdot said - perhaps not grasping the magnitude of what was happening got the better of him. I for one root for Bebe.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ted-forward-Bebe-says-price-tag-not-his-fault Read the difference between this article and the other one. Totally different meaning.
Disappointing if true. Any Portuguese speakers on hand who read the original artical? Is this in context or translated correctly. Call me mad but I think the British media (as usual) are exaggerating how bad he is. From the moment it was rumoured (and later denied) that he had been homeless and that we hadn't seen him play in person, the press were dying for him to be a flop.
I still think he can make it here to be honest. He has had a good loan for Rio Ave. His abilities and physicality is suited to the premier league. He just needs to get sharper. I wonder how long he has been around professional football. Give him time, it will come.
the other interesting thing about the Bébé hate is that he has never been given a run of games to prove himself anyway. i doubt if he even managed 3 in a row, yet he is already a failure. meanwhile Torres is apparently getting back to his best after 2 goals in the UEL erase months of mediocrity. although to be fair even the few remaining journalists that still have some form of hope for him are beginning to lose it now
