Norway's Home 12 shirt: Not the fanciest, but I kinda like the square neck. And I really like the vertical stripe. Beats the hell out of their past 2 shirts. (Dragon badge, not withstanding.) Yes, I've returned like a bad penny. Now that I'm slowly working my way back into following overseas soccer, I feel the need to remark upon the placement of a particular sponsor's ad on the Umeå uniform but I'll let the photo do my talking...
Where do they advertise 'SECONDDATE.COM'?! It's a mystery to me why more women's teams don't utilise different parts of their kit to bring in more advertising pennies, at least where league rules allow it.
There's something inherently amusing about a post that even dares to mention Bälinge 2008 in the same paragraph as Lyon and Potsdam and Malmö. Sigh. And how did that 'overspending to stay up' work out, hmm? mutter mutter...
In Bällinges case it very easy to decribe. 1) make a good finacial plan and follow it 2) during the summer break discover that you are in a placed so that you will get reglated 3) recuit one or two american players, completly outside of the planned costs since the revenue loss if you get reglated would be bigger anyway 4) repeat until finances looks so bad that you don't want to play anymore But they did stay up until they folded
I was getting "chain saw", but now I see what you're saying (and I guess chain saws are phallic, too).
Thankfully I'm seeing 'chainsaw' now, too. I keep being bombarded with Handcreamer shirts being modelled by various players, on Facebook. Which other women's clubs across Europe are selling shirts? In UK, I know Glasgow City, Birmingham, Lincoln and Bristol Acad are flogging their tops. Who else and which are worthy of the thread title?
I thought I saw a LdB shirt this year, and it actually didn't look as kooky as last years. Or am I dreaming? Maybe it was a warm-up. But it looked...respectable! ETA: yeah, I'm dreaming.
I like it! Well, a bit. Which should pretty much warn everyone else away from it. Shite fashion sense.
