Luyindula is always a threat to come up big in big matches. I hope he plays 90 minutes. Please do not put Camara orTraoré out there.

Curious why Makelele, Guily, Jallet and Hoarau arent available for this match? Is there injury? Suspension? Or are they being preserved for a league match?

This is the perfect symbol of football cynism. On one side, I understand that since the roster of most teams in France is limited and especially at PSG, this kind of turn over is supposed to allow these clubs to get the best results in the league thus to get more money from the TV rights with a better ranking...which is important for the health of these clubs. On the other hand, it remains disappointing to field substitutes in EL like Lille. Well, it was far worse in the case of Lille against PSV. :p

1-1 at the half. Entertaining first half. PSG were the better for the first part of the half then Benfica finally kicked it into gear in the second part of the half.

Goals by Luyindula and Maxi Pereira

Well Benfica deserved their win . 2-1 isn't a bad result but I doubt too many people cares , as long as we have a good showing in Paris and get out of this competition respectfully .

    We better beat Montpellier

Benfica won 2:1. It's fully deserved. During the second half, I think that PSG was pretty much non-inexistant. From the end of the first half, there was more movements, quickness on their side and since there was no real defensive midfielder on the pitch and the pair Traoré and Camara is too slow it was only a matter of time before PSG to own the second goal.

The offensive play of PSG was pretty bad from the start but it only got worse when Luyindula was subbed because he can be precious in the way he protects the ball. At first, PSG pressed Benfica high and it stopped as soon as Peguy was injured. Bodmer was not good, Maurice had a mauricish performance. We can always blame the number of chances PSG missed during the first half, however it's always the same thing so it's normal to pay for your weaknesses.

If PSG doesn't field the best team possible, it's 100% sure that Benfica will get through. It's impossible not to own a goal with a defense componed of Traoré, Makonda, Camara and Edel against Benfica.

BTW, I laughed at how Edel dived on the second goal of Benfica. :p

A tale of two halves....Benfica were quick to the ball in the second half just as PSG was in the first. Not too bad considering the starting line. Many good chances in the first half...if they happen again, it will be wise to take advantage of them. Hopefully we will see more play like the first half in Paris.

Lol I do this everytime he attempts to save a shot . Looks like a baby just throwing himself onto the ground :D It's very amateurish .

I did count his mistakes. He messed up 3 times when he had to come out in the air. He punched the ball twice in front of him. He did also send the ball twice 15 meters in front of him when he had to kick the ball. Edel...it's not only that he can't dive but rather just let himself fall on the pitch, it's everything.

He was proud of himself on his first save but it was his fault that Benfica had this opportunity to score.

Im sure in Paris, Makelele, Guily and the rest of the players that were left out will start and PSG will be much stronger. PSG had a great first half. That shot that hit the post almost gave you guys a 2-0 lead. Didnt expect PSG to come out that strongly with so many key players missing.

    Gardiens
    : Coupet, Edel.

Défenseurs : Armand, Cearà, Jallet, Makonda, Sakho, Tiéné, Traoré.

Milieux : Bahebeck, Bodmer, Chantôme, Clément, Giuly, Makelele, Maurice, Nenê.

    Attaquants : Erding, Hoarau.
