2-0 Bremen and almost 3-0 after Almeida hits the post.

Marin and Ozil are working great today. It's nice to see Ozil have a good game after that bad stretch. Anyone know why Vander is in? Does Wiese have some sort of injury?

lol Naldo makes it 3-0 Bremen. Twente are turning the ball over in their own zone and Bremen are breaking out of tackles to leave easy finishes. And just as I say that it's now 3-1.

To bad we couldn't keep longer that 3-0. Now Twente is again only one goal away. We need to remain concentrated and maybe score another goal(s).

Very good match from Werder in the first half hour, after Twentes 3-1 the match was open and Twente had some chances to turn it around. The 4-1 was a relief and with the chance for the 5th one Twentes brave fighting spirit was broken. Very interesting match, cudos to both teams and good luck to Twente in the Dutch Championship.

In the end a deserved victory. But today we also saw the luck helps us a little when Twente miss the sitter for 3-2 and then we scored the 4-1 goal and ended the game. The first 30 minutes reminded me of one of the Weser Wonders: the 6-2 against Moskow.

Now the only game in EL which is still undecided is Valencia against Brugge from where we'll find out our next opponents. Now I'm looking at the extra times. Though decision: to support Valencia for a real entertaining game next round or Brugge for a more easier opponent. Anyhow, the last thing doesn't always appear to be in our favor as we times and times again played awful against lower ranked teams.

With 3 of the 4 Bundesliga clubs moving forward, it definitely helps for the Bundesliga taking that extra Champions League spot away from Serie A especially with Roma getting knocked out today.

Werder will play Valencia, who beat Club Brugge 3-0.

It was exactly one chance (10 minutes after the interval) ... and what a big one! After Pizza's 4:1 just seconds later, the match was decided.

Congrats on a fantastic first half and deserved win (even though you were lucky not to concede the 3:2 in the above-mentioned scene). The "magic trio" Pizza - Özil - Marin was outstanding!

Btw: Only 23,000 fans at Weserstadion tonight (incl. the Twente support), that's pretty disappointing for such an important game and a big city like Bremen (even though it was a Thursday night).

I expected some empty seats, because the match was rated by UEFA as a risky one (Germany - Holland). So Werder didn't sell any tickets on matchday, people, who had tickets and couldn't join the match weren't allowed to sell them to away fans and such stuff. But 23000 is about 10000 lower than the current capacity. :(

Nah, he already left to Munich and came back after a Chelski stop. ;) But nice match indeed. :)
