I said it once and I'll say it again...I wouldn't be surprised if the Dutch bowed out first round, and after watching the game, I feel a bit more confident saying it. Roberto Martinez said it perfectly at half time: the total football that we all know the Dutch play wasn't there in '10. Two years later, now they try once again to play that possession football...well, it won't come off as well as it used to. Especially against a team so well organized like the Danes. If the Dutch weren't in the group of death, then maybe they'd have some breathing room with a couple of trial and errors, but not in this group of death. Excited to see how the Germany v. Portugal game will come about.
Can't believe the dutch were so impotent. VdV should have been put in earlier. And robben was just so poor. Germany here looks pretty lumpy and slow. Not sure if gameplan or tentativeness but everything is taking too long with no fluidity.
I love Mario Gomez. And did anyone else notice Jogi Lowe picking his boogers and eating them again? He was trying to be sly, but you could tell what he was doing.
A wet rag has more charisma than Michael Ballack. I'm gonna cut him some slack and say it's a language issue (but that's being generous). Also, Portugal is a team that seems like they should be good, but they're always so underwhelming.
