Because of having only 5 teams does that mean the second-place teams don't qualify or will they do like the WC and take away points from the groups with 6 teams vs. the team in last place in their respective groups?

Eliminate the bottom teams points in groups 1-6.

I like this group. I'd hate to get teams like San Marino, Faroe Islands, Leichstenstein, Azebaijan, etc........ Those games are a waste.

This way, Portugal has to be motivated for all the games because there's good chances for upsets.

the best runner up automatically qualifies the rest do play offs

we should win this group, lightning shouldnt strike twice with denamrk and the rest of the teams shouldnt be too much trouble

hopefully we start integrated new younger players this time around especially if our WC doesnt go so well

One thing is for sure Deco won't be tking part in qualifying or anything after the WC.

Simao may play qualifiers but I doubt he will be on the team in 2012 so he may follow Deco into NT retirement.

Miguel, Paulo Ferreira, Nuno Gomes, Fernando Meira will probably also be bit players at best.

Coentrao, Fernandes, Joao Perreira, Ze Castro will probably see considerable playing time in qualifiers. As long as they don't drop the ball then we won't need too many vets.

This draw was as good as we could've hoped for. Our toughest opponent we have had a very good look at. I dont think the same mistakes will be made.

I just hope the young guys are brought through.

Too many likely retirments coming for the young guys not to get a shot. That and Queiroz does give out more chances then Scolari. Too bad he can't motivate worth a damn.

    Re: Euro 2012 Qualifying Draw.

Whats the problem? Didn't you like the last results (2 games = 5 points)?

We in Denmark might have preferred getting Rusia, Croatia, France or Italy as first seeded, but in the end we really wouldn't want the rest of the participants in those groups. So while Portugal is not the easyist, we know that it certainly isn't as bad as Spain or the Netherlands, and about the same level as England or Germany. The rest of the group is quite favorable. Yes, there is no easy team there - Both Cyprus and Iceland are capable, in ways Malta and Lictenstein aren't. Norway can be difficult, but they aren't as stong as earlier, and motivation will not be a problem for the danish team (rivalry, though not as intense as against Sweden - Norway are our (rich) little brothers after all).

Are we sure that CQ is going to be the coach post-2010 WC?

Norway taking defensive soccer to a whole new level. They will bore you to death and score off a long range free kick cross to the area.

With Drillo back, we quite aware of their peculiar tactic. The national fan club is recommending that every spectator bring a powerfull alarm clock to the game. :)

You can always count on Drillo putting 12 out of 11 availble players close to Norways goal....

Norway want to meet Denmark and Portugal as soon as possible after the WC, while both Portugal and Denmark want to wait until 2011. Seems like it will be nessesary to decide the match program by lottery.

Just in the news... The match schedule is to be determined by lottery, as the national representatives could not reach an agreement on the match schedule.

    Sometimes after march 16.
probably soon afterwards, as the group teams already has told UEFA, that an agreement could not be reached.

Sometimes I think it should be a lottery right from the get go. But it's nice that teams are given a chance to deal something they would all prefer.
