Now Italy have the lead they can just play counter-attack /deep defence .

Gomez I can understand if only because Klose has looked past it.

Surprised he never gave Podolski a run at striker, seeing as he had a big season at Koln and would have been a better matchup against Spain. To play such a static striker as Gomez against Spain would be suicide.

Klose is the type of player they might need against this Italian defence. Reus looked like one of the most explosive young players around .

I wonder if many will be re-evaluating the England performance on the back of this game...

To be fair to Mario he worked his nuts off against us, the only thing that was off was some of his finishing. We also did a far better job getting back at him defensively when he received the ball over the top.

Let's see if muppet trolls like B Rock have an opinion! Trying to claim us getting a 0-0 was a disaster which ruined our whole tournament :D

He will be going down to the Germany forum and sharing all his "wisdom" with them. Or maybe he only shows up in our forum after defeats .

    Not me.

The Germans looked nervous from the start.

To be fair, apart from first 45 against Netherlands and Greece game they've not been good this tournament. Outplayed by Portugal for the most part, struggled to hold on 2nd half against the Dutch and were a missed penalty call from going 1-2 and 10 men down against Denmark.

Reus has already done more in 5 minutes than Podolski managed in the first half.

Terrible decision to not start Reus, arguably the worst of the tournament.

Italy so sloppy on the counter for a 3rd, should have buried this game 3 or 4 chances ago.

Germany will come again in the future, but they've really been handled tonight. Italy by far the best team.

Pirlo just taking the piss, beating Germans on the dribble so easily :D

Still fancy Spain to take it, providing Del Bosque doesn't do anything stupid.
