does anybody know which network will be broadcasting next year's european championships?

will sbs be showing anything or is every match on foxtel?

Not for sure but I would bet on SBS to show some. Along the same format as the World Cup

No officially deal has been done but I am sure SBS will not get exclusive rights so it will not be in the same format as the World Cup, for Euro2008 SBS showed 8 games live while Setanta showed the remaining using direct UK feeds from ITV or BBC. I think SBS has a real chance of getting some games but I would be surprised if its a great improvement from the 8 games they got in 2008

If SBS don't get exclusive rights then who else would get the rights?

10? I don't see satellite providers winning the bid. Free-to-air has the biggest audience i.e. more eyes for advertising.

when it comes to the euro it hasnt been fully covered by sbs since the 1996 tornament.
    2000 & 2004 was foxtel and 2008 was setanta/foxtel.

sbs did show some games in 08, can't recall if they showed anything in 2000 or 2004....possibly the final and opening game.

thinking most likely it'll be foxtel again though hope i'm wrong.
gonna be a pain in the arse getting them hooked up again just for a months worth of entertainment

I think that is the point to grow Setanta market share, looking at the Setanta own press release it reads like their will be no games shown else where http://www.setanta.com/au/Customer-...rded-UEFA-EURO-2012-Media-Rights/gnid-114119/.

I am not surprised that Setanta won the rights their business model they need football to be played all year round and this tournament is a perfect way for them to increase their subscription base. Mike their is also some cheaper non Foxtel alternative to get the channel if you have a good broadband connection like Fetch tv and Setanta-i but if your happy finding your own streams good luck to you

Not sure how broadband works here in Oz. I have Telstra as my ISP and not sure what my options are.

turns out sbs will show 8 games...4 live & 4 delayed.

if fozzie has any power over it i'd expect about half of those games to feature spain...though no doubt they'll also feature some england matches.

looks like my once every 4 years subscription to foxtel is on again

I'm hoping The Enmore will have games on the big screen, but if they don't there's my local German club.

    The Concordia, yeah.

Can't imagine they won't be showing Nationalelf games.
