Is it possible to give messi citizenship?

It's obvious he's not gonna do much with Argentina ;)

    not a chance appearently

"No matter the titles, trophies and honors, I will always be the boy who grew up in Rosario, Santa Fé, Argentina. It was there that I learned to walk just to be able to chase a dream." , Messi

Messi is actually an Italian descent

Maybe you can try Di Stefano, again :p

Glad Pedro made it (and Thiago understandably was left out). He should start remembering how good he is and deliver.

Yeah, the midfield is pretty stacked, but Thiago will have more chances, he had a great first full season with the first team, and will only get better. Supper happy for Pedro. It would be 9 of 23 but for Villa and Puyol's injuries. In the future Thiago and others will get chances. It will be interesting if Pique can play with Martinez in central defense though perhaps more likely Ramos is used more centrally as one of the starters rather than as fullback.
"Pedro returns to the Spanish squad for the European Championships, joining Valdés, Piqué, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta and Cesc in Vicente del Bosque’s 23-man squad for the tournament"

Yep, Thiago surely has all the time in the world to make his stand with the NT, but that time is not yet.

This should be great motivation for him. Great news that Pedro made it.

Afellay made the Dutch squad...good news for him because he can use the confidence boost even more than Pedro

If he's uninjured enough he goes. I for one hope they don't rush it. The man's gonna have a big year with Barca, I don't want second class tournaments risking his fitness.

Pedro gets #7. He asked Villa and Villa told him that he'd be happy if Pedro wears his number during the Euros.

Llorente looks huge sitting in the front row. Is the only reason he's there because he wears Adidas boots?

A couple of days agao, Afellay played for the Netherlands, he had an excellent performance and could be a starter in the tournament. Some very good dribbles and skills.

    Netherlands vs Slovakia Highlights.

    Van Perasie
    Afellay - Sneijder - Robben
    N. De Jong - Van Bommel

    Continuing on Afellay...

The Netherlands are playing against Northern Ireland. They are leading 5-0 and Afellay has scored two excellent goals, he is also looking very lively. Good to see.

Afellay has played well lately. Hope he plays a good Euro, stays in Barca (and fit) and has the season of his career.

Just like France, besides Lloris, Gourcuff and Vualbuena the rest are ethnic Africans or Algerians even their handball team. Far right politician Jean-Marie Le Pen said back in 1998 that the Black, Blanc, Beur team that won the World Cup did not look sufficiently French.

Edit: As I speak, penalty specialist Christina Ronaldo misses another penalty that would have tied them with Turkey 1-2 atm.

Really well, 2 games = 3 goals and two assist. The boy just need games, I hope Tito will utilize him more than Pep did when fit, if he doesn't get offloaded. He is too good to be a squad player imo.

I think there is a clear difference between heritage and where you were born. I think that the 9gag poster is criticizing those player born outside German borders. Notice no Ozil in that picture, who was born in Germany but has Turkish heritage.

Yeah agreed that hopefully he will get more minutes, but dunno about being too good to be a squad player. I mean, the competition he is against is kinda tough. But if he stays healthy and delivers, it's easy to see him getting sort of "heavy rotation" minutes even if he wouldn't in the "ideal XI".
