I'm not exactly sure what you meant by this, but my point was reality often is boring. I thought that was self evident because that's what I said.

Don't ever dismiss the importance of defending and set piece execution. Forget entertainment results are the only thing that matters. Germany and Italy may well be the last ones standing.

Dirt got a hold of BSA's coaching manual. :p You've got a point though. Although I didn't think Portugal looked very inspiring tonight, very little creativity and more often than not they were just taking pot shots from range. That first German goal was a class move.

I thought Portugal had a fairly easy group, thats why I said I'd be interested to see how they did when they came up against a quality opponent. The answer is not well.

Apparently CRonaldo has said his future in the premier league is over after the game... Now there's a shocker.

I'm not a fan of the English longball game although I can appreciates it's effectiveness as a tactic.

It's the same thing in all sports. Teams that defend well and perform the simplest tasks with a high degree of excellence will generally win championships or in the least perform at high level in the league consistently.

Germany always have a pretty solid defence, they tend to be more ruthless in attack though, I don't think they played in a boring style today. If you take into account they were defending a 1 goal lead for most of the 2nd half they were probably more exciting than Portugal tonight.

Portugal remind me a bit of Arsenal, they try to pass through opponents every time and don't mix it up enough.

I wasn't really impressed with how Portugal reacted to going 2 goals down, Ronaldo's not exactly set the tournament alight (although his form for Man Yoo was on the wane anyway). Heads dropped and they panicked.

WTF is with stadiums playing music when a team scores?? I hate that.

ESPN360 ftw. Check and see if your ISP and connection speed will allow for it. They archive games for a certain time too.

Seriously, it is just absolutely obnoxious. The game yesterday was fantastic, the only thing missing was C-Ron balling like the little shit he is. I wish someone followed him into the locker room so I could have seen him cry. I can't wait for Real to swoop him so I don't have to see him on a weekly basis.

Can't believe the Croats aren't winning yet.

Just give Turkey the trophy now. Don't worry about Arda and Tuncay being suspended or Nihat or Emre being injured, they'll obviously find a way to get it done.

The way Arshavin and Turan have played in the Euros, looks like it's back to the drawing board to find a replacement for Emre.

Forget Turan, I think Zhirkov is better.

Arshavin is easily the player of the tourney for me...and he's only played 2 games.

Why couldn't the USSF make a better effort to sign Hiddink? ********er just can't lose.

Left Mid and a good one at that. Forget Arshavin(we should've got him in Jan) or Turan they wont be coming anymore.

Edit: Forget him as well apparently he signed with ManU according to Wikipedia.

    No, but you were.

Wow, you had two out of four, amazing. You are SOOOOOO full of awesome.

Anyway, Spain vs. Germany in the final. I only need to get one more right that you don't and we'll be even.

I honestly don't care anymore about predictions at this point, I just want Germany to win.

    Aragones to coach Fenerbahce

Well, that's Russia through then. I'd've figured there was a lesson to be learned from Chelsea and Scolari but I guess not.

Turkey's B side were terribly unlucky. If Germany play like that in the final they'll be humiliated.
