and then Crissy finally scoring after 10 shots, though to give credit where it is due, Real created many more chances and was a bit unlucky not to score (great job by Hart too) before ManSee took both their leads. ManSee had very little going on offensively today and scored on half their good chances.

LPB played better and deserved to win. 3-2 at the Barcabeau is nothing to sneeze at though. City played decent enough on the road. Obviously their group points will probably come from the rest of the group.

    You mean, nice one Mancini.

If there's ever reputation as a player helping your managerial career get somewhere, it's him.

The first half was all LPB, its like City could not handle their pace. The 2nd half was more interesting for a "neutral". Other than Hart, Yaya and maybe Dzeko the rest of the team was flat.

By the way, Malaga 3, Zenit 0. Mad respect to them.

Indeed. I actually decided to watch this game over the LPB-City clash. I felt LPB-City wouldn't live up to all the hype. lol Guess I was wrong. Not that I'm kicking myself for having missed a LPB comeback.
But I'm glad I watched Malaga-Zenit. Isco scored two very impressive goals. Good team performance overall.

I saw the highlights of the Malaga-Zenit game and the goals were really nice, especially the screamer from Isco I believe it was.

For how good the LPB-City game was (I was pretty into it, I admit), the goals were pretty dicey (deflections and really dodgy defending/goalkeeping) - each team got one quality goal a piece.

City never really mark Ronaldo and that's freakin stupid on how they only have one player marking him everytime he got the ball. Its only Maicon or Kompany and later on Zabaleta. You never saw Ronaldo getting crowded. They just let him shoot over and over again. If wasnt Joe Hart, Ronaldo would have scored 4.

and man, I think Yaya Toure could have compete at 100 meters sprint at olympic and win the gold.

Regardless the result, both team did not show great teamwork at all. Definetely not Madrid of last season.

Did Lpb just win the CL? The hype in AS and Marca makes it seem like they just did...

    We're only on Matchday 1...

Of course, he'll tell you that he's not obsessed with winning the Champions League because, as he stated last season, "La Liga is the most important thing because it is the competition in which the best team always wins out. In the Champions League, the best team doesn't always win."

Low profile games but two very shocking scorelines at halftime...
    Lille 0-3 BATE Borisov
    Braga 0-2 Cluj
