About time: http://www.engadget.com/2012/11/20/espn3-finally-comes-to-cablevision/#comments So maybe we can expect Bein to get on Cablevision in about 2020.
...right in time for a lot of stuff to be blacked out. http://espn.go.com/watchespn/faq#rec1 Change happened on August 27th.
Does anybody know if ESPN3 is available on Dish Network and/or DirecTV? And if the answer is "no", if there is any chance for that to happen at all?
ESPN3 is signed through your ISP. Basically, the ISPs pay a very small fee per subscriber. At one time, it was something like five cents, but I'm sure it's gone up since then. http://espn.go.com/espn3/affList If you have an email address ending in .mil or .edu, you should also have access to ESPN3 by logging in remotely. (I think.) Here's the affiliates for WatchESPN: http://espn.go.com/watchespn/affList?device=videosub ...and the FAQ: http://espn.go.com/watchespn/faq WatchESPN allows 24/7 online access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU.
It is definitely not available through DirectTV via the IPad WatchESPN app. It is not just related to your ISP unless you also get cable service through that ISP. If you log in with your ISP account, the system checks to make sure you have cable service and not just Internet. My ISP is Comcast but I am still blocked using espn3 because DirectTV is my tv provider.
Go to www.espn3.com (it'll redirect) and find out. It sounds like you'll be fine...until Cablevision goes to WatchESPN. When will it go to WatchESPN? Probably whenever Cablevision's deal with Disney gets renewed, but that's pure speculation on my part. ...as a bonus, make sure you hit that "Remote Access" link so you can tie your email address into your account and watch wherever you are.
