Here's my Week 5 Recap and my three games to watch next week. Thanks for the support. While my site is primarily a Houston Dynamo website, I'm looking to grow the Liga MX coverage. Even if I don't necessarily address your specific comment, I read them and appreciate them all. In the end, I want to continue to grow our coverage of Liga MX. http://www.dynamotheory.com/2013/2/...ek-6-recap-tijuana-tigres-draw-chivas-winless
Here's the latest. Week 10 Recap plus three games to watch. Thanks for reading. http://www.dynamotheory.com/2013/3/...e-is-well-deserved-but-the-dynamo-can-silence
http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2013/03/espn-to-air-select-liga-mx-matches-in-english/ http://sonofthebronx.blogspot.com/2013/04/espn-espn2-and-espnu-ratings-march-25.html First Liga MX game on ESPN2 (the other 3 were on ESPNnews) got a 63,000 rating. Do not know the rating on ESPNDeportes, I assume much higher. Last Friday were the ratings for the second game on ESPN2 Chivas @ Jaguares, ratings probably will be out next week. The third game will be Monarcas vs. Queretaro on april 12. (just saw, it looks like it will be on a 1 hour delay).
Here is a Jornada 14 Recap. Pumas defeat Tigres to hand them their first loss of the Clausura. http://www.dynamotheory.com/2013/4/...nada-14-pumas-defeat-tigres-clausura-liguilla Thanks for reading the posts! Feel free to create a sign on and comment on the posts if you'd like.
I think you using the dynamotheory.com domain to talk about the greatness of la liga MX is insulting. get your own domain, like laligamxforgringos.com or laligamxfordummies.com and make sure you put a huge disclaimer of your inability to provide a spanish version of your blog.
Ok man, seriously? Providing a Spanish verison of my blog? The entire point is there is THOUSANDS of Spanish sites that cover Liga MX in Spanish! If you don't know of any, I can surely help you with that. The point here is there very LITTLE coverage in English - hence the reason I cover it on my site, DT. You're a funny guy.
Here's the J15 TV Schedule. http://www.dynamotheory.com/2013/4/19/4243364/liga-mx-jornada-15-schedule-tv-listings
Seriously quit being a douche bag. English exposure of our league is a great thing. If you don't like it, go follow the Guatemalan league lol
The Puebla - Jaguares on ESPN2 got a 48K ratting (April 14) The Cruz Azul - Tijuana on April 13 got a 81K on ESPN2. No ratings as far as I can see for the April 12 match (Morelia vs Queretaro) http://sonofthebronx.blogspot.com/2013/04/espn-espn2-and-espnu-ratings-april-8-14.html April 5th Jaguares vs Chivas on ESPN2; 79K http://sonofthebronx.blogspot.com/2013/04/espn-espn2-and-espnu-ratings-april-1-7.html
So as far as I can tell ESPN2 Game 1 Cruz Azul - Atlas (Sat., Mar. 30 6:55 p.m.) 63K rating. Game 2 Jaguares de Chiapas vs. Chivas de Guadalajara (Fri., Apr. 5 9:25 p.m.) 79K Game 3 Monarcas vs. Queretaro (Fri., Apr. 12 10:25 p.m.) ????? ESPNNews Game 1 Monarcas vs. Club America (Fri., Mar. 8 8:25 p.m.) Game 2 Cruz Azul vs. Jaguares de Chiapas (Sat., Mar. 9 5:55 p.m.) Game 3 Puebla F.C. vs. Pumas Unam (Sun., Mar. 10 5:55 p.m.) Not sure about ESPN news, guess this website only tracks ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU http://sonofthebronx.blogspot.com/2013/03/espn-espn2-and-espnu-ratings-march-4-10.html BTW, A replay of a game (not sure what game) got a 163K rating at 2 am (I believe all times are eastern time).
since the replay # is the only one we have I will include that number into the average. ESPN2 Game 1 Cruz Azul - Atlas (Sat., Mar. 30 6:55 p.m.) 63K rating. Game 2 Jaguares de Chiapas vs. Chivas de Guadalajara (Fri., Apr. 5 9:25 p.m.) 79K Game 3 Monarcas vs. Queretaro (Fri., Apr. 12 tape delay shown at 2am Apr. 13) 163K Game 4 Cruz Azul vs. Club Tijuana (Sat., Apr. 13 5:55 p.m.) 81K Game 5 Puebla F.C. vs. Jaguares de Chiapas (Sun., Apr. 14 12:55 p.m.) 48K Game 6 Jaguares de Chiapa vs. Club Leon (Fri., Apr. 19 8:25 p.m.) Still not out. Not really, but it is the first year, depending how cheap ESPN2 got the rights for, they may bring them back next year. Then again, Liga MX works better for Clausura, during the apertura season, the Saturdays are full of College Football on ESPN2. Not sure what ESPN2 shows on Sundays during the NFL season.
Biggest thing hurting ESPN ratings is the fact the company selling them the TV rights are airing the same game at the exact same time, or the correct time if the ESPN game is tape delayed. You might want to factor in the Mexican national team games since they were part of the package.
The National team deal was with Univision, the Liga MX deal was with TV Azteca, so not the same package. There may be something to the tape delay, the highest rated game was the delayed game that was televised @ 2 am.
I am going to say no (I could be wrong) Lets remember what these ratings are for. TV networks pay independent companies (nielson) to calculate the number of people that watch their programming, the TV networks can then use those numbers to see how much they should pay for content and how much they should charge advertisers for commercial time, I know they use some DVR and TIVO numbers, so on-line viewers would not fit into this category. Regarding watching on-line; the networks showing content on line know exactly how many people watch their product on line basically in real time, they know how many people click on their ad banners or watch their commercials and for how long, so they do not need to pay a ratings agency for that type of information, that is why that type of information is not public (as far as I know).
