Jones/Smalling in for Walker could be a problem in terms of attacking output if it's a tight game.

Other than that will be interesting if Wilshere/Carrick come in for Lampard.

We have to get on top of them early on so they lose the motivation to play hard ,seeing as they are already out. They will probably have a load of fans attending so maybe they will just go out and play like they have nothing to lose. Could be a dangerous situation.

Presumably the Polish players will be less willing to take one in the mush to prevent a goal. Hopefully ours will be more willing (for a change).

We need to go at them. Carrick for lampard and keep townsend in. Use milner as a cm runner if we need to late on. Not a rw

Unfortunately Gerrard is captain so one of Carrick/Wilshere won't play

Poland don't have Lucaz Pizeck. That will help because they love to attack on the right side. They are faster than most people think. We can contain Lewandowski, but he is a handful.

Montenegro has a better record than Poland, but Poland attack us better than Montenegro. One thing to take into is that we will have a much better squad than when we played them last year at their place. We should've won 1-0, but gave up a stupid goal on a corner kick. They did have a couple of good chances of scoring in open play though. That concerns me the most.

FA have given Poland 18,000 tickets so they will have a big and loud support.

    Hilarious!!
the game would have been a sell out if they had been given 5000 tickets or less. The FA are world beating clowns.

the 3 Dortmund players will cause us problems

Robert Lewandowski - strong and quick, great finisher and technical
Jakub Błaszczykowski - insanely quick right winger, limited ability on the ball, basically a polish theo!
Łukasz Piszczek - a hard working fullback who will cause problems when overlapping as he is competent going forward

if we deal with these 3, we should be ok

Piszczek aint in the squad. So that is one less name to deal with. We badly need to punish their average defence with afew goals.

18,000 tickets? Wow FA. Well it will be a hell of an atmosphere then. All the more if we beat them, then we'll just piss off 13,000 more people.

Poland played a right back at left back in their last game and he was to blame for the only goal of the game. Will be interesting to see if they make a change there. Centre back Szukała who started the last game is also suspended.

Here is their predicted line-up from a Mirror article today -

Predicted line up: (4-2-3-1): Artur Boruc – Artur Jedrzejczyk, Kamil Glik, Marcin Wasilewski, Jakub Wawrzyniak – Grzegorz Krychowiak, Mariusz Lewandowski – Jakub Blaszczykowski (c), Piotr Zielinski, Waldemar Sobota – Robert Lewandowski.

I was at Wembley on THAT night in 1973. Forty years on I still shudder when I think about it. If ever one match taught me a basic truth about football, it was that what you don't do, is motivate the opposition from the off, or give them any sort of psychological lift.

Back in 1973, Brian Clough called the Polish goalkeeper, Jan Tomaszewski, a "Clown" on TV. Tomaszewski played out of his skin that night and stopped everything England threw at him. Result: The game finished a draw, England failed to qualify for the 1974 world cup and Alf Ramsey got the sack.

Now, the FA have gone and given a whopping great wad of tickets to half the Polish population of London and you can bet a pound to a pinch of pig***t that the Polish team will feel like they're the home team, playing to qualify.

Poland can't qualify for the world cup, but the team will be playing for their, undoubtedly very noisy, fans. We've handed Poland a massive psychological lift on a plate, in a game we have to win.

    When will we ever learn..?

Jeez. Wasilewski has just signed for Leicester and has played about 1 1/2 games for us.

    Just target him all night.

Blame the greedy FA grey suits for doing this.
They are the only people who allowed it.

They didn't need to sell the tickets to Poles, though. This game could have sold out several times over to English fans alone.

One rather ludicrous excuse being put forward for this by the FA is that, if they hadn't given the Polish fans more tickets, they would obtain them from touts instead and this would result in Polish fans mingling in parts of the stadium not designated for them (that is, amongst England fans) and that this presents a "security risk".

Earth calling the FA... There will be Polish fans in amongst the English fans anyway. This game is so big, and there are so many Poles living in London now that no matter how many you allow into segregated areas, demand from Polish fans will massively exceed supply.

The FA have just made a lame excuse for what they now realise is (yet another) howling cock-up.

    The Blazers strike again.

Every time there is big demand for away tickets ,they give away large chunks of tickets. But this is the first time they have done it for a key game. I pray this doesnt cost us.

The form of our current CM ?!
Wilshere even out of form is more than good enough to start ahead of those 2, it won't happen unfortunately

Wilshere has been in poor form of late and he's not great defensively at the best of times. In this instance I wouldn't be overly disappointed not to see him start.

Been looking at the Polish National forum and they are pretty pessimistic about the England match.
