I got the impression (from the minute by minute guide) that we could have won it with the chances we had in the second half - but nearly isn't good enough.

England #U19s v Serbia: Johnstone, Coady, Garbutt, Thorpe (c), Robinson, Thorne, Chalobah, Barkley, Redmond, Kane, Afobe. All others subs.

    Kick off at 3:30pm.

No idea how this team lines up. Who's playing right back today? Coady for first time ever or a left back? A bit absurd considering Todd Kane was dropped.

Edit - It's Coady at right back. I guess he has qualities to play the role but seems bizarre to dump him in at this point. Garbutt playing in midfield then.

Not good. Anything to give Coady the plodder a game I suppose.

That's what I was thinking. The defence looks a mess, I really can't imagine playing Coady in there. Iirc Liverpool tried it earlier this season and had to move back into midfield quickly because he was doing so poorly.

I'd like to think we can put this one to bed without too many scares.

I was wondering if he had played there before for Liverpool.

It's unlucky that we have picked up a few knocks to players but we still don't have a proper right back in the squad and now because we have two left backs in the squad and only one real wide option (Redmond) we end up with both left backs playing in what I think is just a 4-4-2.

We seem to change formation every game?

Can't say I'm too confident. Lets hope for an early goal for us to open things up.

I'll have to stop guessing at Blake's plans. It's a 4-3-3 with Jack Robinson at centre back.

No livestreams as far as I know.

I've never seen Robinson as a centre back or Coady as a right back? Surely he has to bring Chalobah back into defence

 ... Our defence is worrying. I can't say I know of Robinson playing CB ever, Garbutt has played there before I think but never seen Robinson in that position. The defence is shocking.

Are Keane and Dier not fully fit ? or is this some sort of rotational policy by Blake ? I feel for Thorpe having to organise that defence.
No live streams :( when are British Eurosport going to show England ?! anyway thanks

Keane and Dier have knocks. Not sure how unfit that makes them though.

Shows the lack of balance in the squad when you have three forwards on the bench.

Chalobah should be pairing with Thorpe if that is the situation with Dier and Keane ? I can't see him being effective from wide left midfield ?! and was Todd Kane not fit enoough for the squad ? Coady there is just ?
Absolutely, the only viable midfield option is Lundstram ?!

Blake dropped Todd Kane because he thinks Dier is his best option at right back even though I don't think Dier has played right back at club level before?

thanks for clearing it up, although Blake's thinking is far from clear.

Good! are you using UEFA or the FA or other for updates ?

    YEEHHAA!

I'm wondering if it has been grim. Ideally another goal or two is needed to look as if we mean business.
